How in the world did Chase march from 11th to third in two laps?! Geez. Another lap and he would’ve won.

    Freakin’ William Byron.

Great win for Kes! Hopefully he’ll get an extension and encourage Miller Lite to sponsor more races next year.

Oof. That makes Chase a runner up and Blaney gets third. A good night for Hendrick turned awful. The team meeting tomorrow is going to be pretty salty.

I thought I was gonna have the same thought process... but it's still good racing.

and it might be the only sport we get for quite a while...

A few additions to make me feel cool.
If Chase could just get that monkey off his back and win one race the floodgates would open on that 9 car. It will happen. As long as the 11, 22 & 19 don't win. Sick of seeing those guys win right now. I like Martin but sick of seeing them dominate races over the last few seasons.

I wonder how much the new car will change things. I remember a lot of dominant guys falling off while others improved when NASCAR shifted from bias ply to radial tires. Bill Elliott hit a performance wall (part of this was due to dedication to underfunded teams and refusing to drive cheated up cars). Jeff Gordon didn't light the world on fire in Busch series on bias-ply tires, but man was he good on radial tires in Cup (Ray Evernham was a BIG part of that success, too).

I wonder if we'll see guys like Hamlin and Busch, who have fine-tuned their setups and muscle memory for the current cars, if we'll see these guys fade with the transition to newer cars and newer handling. 6-speed transmissions, shorter rear decklids, bigger wheels, differing angles of entry and exit, I wonder how this will affect these guys who are more set in their ways of doing things and not open to change.

We will see a shift to the younger guys for sure when they make that transition but the big teams will have the leg up just on the amount of money they throw at it. I think they delayed that car until the 2022 season though so at least another season with what we have now other than rule and package changes. I think a few of the older guard might hang it up after next year because of that.

I think we are starting to see a few cracks in the "IRacing" superstars like Byron. Seems they can drive the hell out of a car as long as it is perfect but struggle you know when a fucking tire is going down because you are driving like Cole Trickle testing the 51 and a tire blows and you F over your entire organization!

And with style and in every way. A team and series he has not been in for a long time. Started way farther back and just flat out performed Kyle with no practice. It is starting to feel like when Gordon started taking his due back in the 90's. Finished it off with Kyle's bow! LOL... That was Chase putting Kyle on notice.

Kyle had the upper hand all night, even fresher tires at the end. Chase just out drove him.

Yep Kyle is slipping, 4th on Sunday, 1st on Monday and 2nd on Tuesday (last night).

Good for Elliott, 3 wins in 13 truck races. I’m not ready to put him up there on a pedestal yet though, if he is anything like awesome bill, then he will be a great person, but he has some more work to do before we start comparing him to the likes of Gordon.
