Who’s running a diff drop here? Does it actually help?

I am... not sure... I put mine on when I put the diff in during the 4wd swap, so I can't compare before/after.

Was cheaper and easier for me to find a diff drop than to find the OEM diff bolts. Diff didn't have the bolts when I bought it.

For my application, it doesn't seem to have any negative effects. The skids I'm running don't hit it, etc.

I am, they're cheap and easy to install but I didn't notice any difference after I put mine on. And I still blew CV boots with just under 3" of lift, only thing that stopped it was lowering down to about 2" lift.

I wouldn't bother with the diff drop, plus there's some that say they accelerate wear on the diff mount bushings.

Oh, and they prevent one of the steering rack bushings from coming all the way out (flange on the long bolt hits the diff). More or less depending on how much of a drop you do.

I read about all the people who said they didn't make a difference but decided to do one anyway because it was so cheap and easy. I have noticed no difference in CV angles at all.

    I'm running one.
Although had to take the metal spacer pucks and turn them down on a lathe to about 3/4" thick because they otherwise hit my front AP skid plate.

Probably doesn't do anything since I have manual hubs anyways. But good peace of mind? :notsure:

Hm weird, I have the 1" ones installed on my truck and put an AP skid on a few months ago, didn't have any clearance issues. I'll have to take a peek and see how close it is

Got talked into buying 5 Cooper 285/75/R16 STT Pro's off Amazon to go on the SCS F5 rims I am ordering. Thanks @Uphillshunter @Fernando and many others for the recommendation. Will post some pics after everything arrives and gets mounted.

Just ordered a front diff drop kit myself, kinda wondering if it was pointless/harmful at this point. Only 35$ so... guess it's not that big a deal.

The name diff 'drop' is deceiving, since all it really does is tilt the differential downward, doesn't actually drop it down any...probably also why most of us don't notice any change after the install.

Hm yea not sure. Could be because you're 01-04, but can't imagine it would make that much of a difference.

Even turning them down to 3/4" they are still sitting right on the skid plate.

Yep I got that! I'm did the hose clamp when I did my 4x4 Conversion and I'm going to swap it out.
