    Howdy Rick,
I wonder if the mods would let them do a raffle? Set a price/minimum for the amount of tickets sold for each item. Also, make it $5 a ticket 5 for $20. Then post a thread for each item to make it easier to manage, with links to the other items. Then if say you need to sell 20 tickets for something and you only need to sell one more someone would be more inclined to buy that one more to kick off the drawing.

That would add up quick. :notsure:

Pretty cool idea, however let’s hold off on making any moves until our group makes a call on the meet please!

    Hello everyone,

This has been one of the hardest decisions that I think I have ever had to make. Unfortunately, the 2020 TacomaWorld “summer Sizzler” meet for autism speaks is going to be canceled. Anyone that has purchased a ticket will be refunded the money within a period of two weeks. Unfortunately, through the aspect of the online ticket system, I cannot take out the money and donate the money directly. The money is being held in escrow through EventBright.com until five days after the event actually happens. If you happen to be so inclined to donate directly to autism speaks with the money that you paid, you can click on this link ( https://act.autismspeaks.org/site/Donation2?idb=90305385&4141.donation=form1&DONATION_LEVEL_ID_SELECTED=1&df_id=4141&mfc_pref=T&idb=[[S76:idb]] )and make the donation directly. You will obviously be given an email receipt that you can use for your taxes. Please believe that the decision to cancel this event was not made lightly. All of us look forward to event such as this to not only show off each other’s trucks but to also have a good time, get work done on our trucks, have some good food, get people off of the computers, and grow the community for the love of our Toyota Tacoma’s.

Obviously, the main reason why we are canceling the event is due to the current COVID 19 pandemic that is gripping the nation. Even having an event like this, even if we were to use social distancing, would be putting people at risk and that is not something that any of us really feel comfortable with. The physical event site currently remains closed and most likely will not have the ability to reopen until possibly late July or even August.

When I first started this event last year, I did not expect to see such a huge outpouring of people, not only willing to attend the event, but also to give to a great cause. This year, I had to take on a full-time staff of TacomaWorld members because of the amount of work that goes behind an event like this to take place. I would personally like to thank @LivinLoud (TJ), @Sr5_Tacoma (Kyle) , @Blais03 (Nick), and @DrFunker (Chris) for all of their work that they have done behind the scenes to try to help put an event like this together. You have no idea how much work goes into putting on an event like this and these guys have worked tirelessly to try to bring everything together for the Tacoma world community. We do want an event like this to get bigger and better every year and also by having this event this year, it would diminish the likelihood of this happening. All the vendors have been notified and understand that we will work tirelessly to make even a bigger and better event in 2021 that we already have planned. This is not to say that maybe a mini meet or possible multiple wheeling trips can be planned for the summer. Please reach out to me or anyone in my team for any other questions. Please allow a period of two weeks for the refund to happen. Anyone that has paid with a credit card, will go back right onto the credit card and anyone that has paid with PayPal, will be refunded directly to their PayPal. Please stay safe and hopefully we will see you all soon.

    With kindness and respect,

    Jared Proulx

We usually start planning an event like this in November. With the amount of vendors, securing location, money up front regarding deposits, and promotions, it can take a while to put everything together. This will return in the summer of 2021, bigger and better.

Sad to hear, but ultimately makes the most sense given the current situation. Next years will have to be a rager!

If any help is needed I'd love to lend a hand, just let me know!
