Jack and Stand

Yea me too. I've also got my eye on these but man that price is hard to justify considering our trucks weigh...what...3-4k total? BTW, hard to justify doesn't mean I'm not going to buy them lol....just means I have to let them sit in my cart and "think about it" for at least a month before I do it.

For sure, I'd just worry that they might be wayyyy too big. The problem I have with the 12T Harbor Freight stands is that they take up so much space under the frame, I can't imagine what a 22T stand looks like. Although those are a different style than the ones I'm used to

Really though 6T stands are pretty overkill for our trucks. Most jack stands are rated in pairs though, which is something to keep in mind....meaning a pair of 6T stands individually hold only 3T each. Together they hold 6T. I'm not sure if its the same with those 22T stands but I would assume so. Still way overkill lol

I have a pair of 3 tons from HF, not the recalled ones but the blue ones. But they're not through-pin style so I only use them for holding up parts....not the whole truck. One because they're 3T...two because they're from HF and since last week for some reason, I'm questioning ALL jackstands from HF

 

yeah same here but the 6T ones from Harbor Freight. Mine weren't part of the recall but even still, I'm looking for a new pair that has the safety through pin in them as well. I'll keep the 6T ones for backups or whatever. I only use the 3T stands for holding up the rear axle when I do tire rotations or leaf spring work.

 

Oh and the 3T stands are what I bring with me on offroad trips in my tool kit, since they're smaller. In case I need to swap out a CV axle or change out a flat. I have a Hi-Lift too but after changing out a CV axle in the snow using only a Hi Lift once, I don't intend on doing that again lol. Talk about sketchy

 

Yep same here...driveshaft so I don't have to hold it up...esp since I'm stretched out anyway just to reach it. I'd be ok with using the 3T for rear end work. Shit like that

 

LOL, yea that don't sound like fun. Watch what you're doing with one eye....watch the jack with the other...can't concentrate on either....yea, no thanks

They sell this brand at my local Pep Boys, I usually get a $10 off and/or 15% coupon from them once a month...probably going to grab these next time I get it in the mail

 

The Delco’s I have are 6T, rated 6T each, 12T/ pair. I got them because they are higher than the 3T without ratcheting the extensions at all, so I can get under the truck to comfortably work and apply fluid film without having to extend them too much, so they feel safer in that regard.

 

ESCO jack stands are really nice

...I have HF 3 ton....but one day I will upgrade...shouldnt skimp on life or death safety equipment

 

Now that I could do. If I didn't have to extend them, or extend them very little...a click or 2...I'd be ok with it I think. Just don't like the easy up adjustment.

 

Yeah I can see the secondary pin feature being a good idea.
