Hey I've been saying this is just the flu since the beginning, so I didn't just get on the bandwagon since it's been proven to be!

Problem was we knew it was a coronavirus. SARS and MERS were....not pretty.
    https://consultqd.clevelandclinic.o...-for-centuries-what-differentiates-2019-ncov/

point being, we were on the cusp of a highly contagious and highly deadly virus - 10% mortality rate from SARS (though, small sample size, and plenty of other statistical flaws, sure). Jan/Feb/Mar it was "unknown". Now, it's more known, and more "...yeah, and?"

We were (as a society) scared of what we knew - coronaviruses are contagious and not pretty. And the unknown - the new one! And, I hate to say it, I think rightfully so. But, now, we know a bit better. But the point is we didn't then.

I think initial fear and response was justified, I think the continued response and fear is not.

Also it's not jumping on a bandwagon to change your thoughts on something based on new scientific evidence :)

This is more of a cold to be honest, unless you believe the fake numbers.

True, some have said that from the beginning. All colds are a form of a corona virus.

I've lost at lot of respect for the good doctor, over the past few weeks...

This is political, it was never a threat. That’s just an opinion though, and I know some would want to charge me with murder for not wearing a mask. I respect their opinions too.

I see it more as bee stings...for most people it's a tolerable inconvenience...some people end up in the hospital...and it's deadly for some people. You know how to avoid getting stung by bees? You don't go near bees...Sometimes a bee can still get into your house...
But you sure as shit don't put a bunch of bees in a retirement home full of old people who are allergic to bees :)

I know, my bad. In my defense, that topic is the most market moving news in over a decade.

All good. I just don't want this thread shut down again as soon as I'm diving back in to the market.

That’s been my stance all along. If you’re allergic to bees, stay out of the woods. Everyone else should be able to go in the woods if they choose.

I was walking the dog on sunday at the local conservation land trail. It's about 3 miles of WIDE OPEN trails . I passed a man and woman who were wearing masks. The woman was on the trail. The man was 15 feet off the trail traipsing through the waist deep grass...I said "Are you wearing bug spray?" No, why? "Well there are ticks all around here. I'd be more worried about ticks than corona in an open field...Make sure you check yourself for little black dots when you get home."
    The girl was freaked...
But at least they had their masks on...

Masks are virtue signaling in my opinion. Look at what the CDC has said about non-N-95 masks and their level of protection for the wearer and those around them. I am mostly just discussing what I see, not many people are wearing them around me anyways. Just to get into the store on occasion, then into the pocket it goes.

As a buy and hold investor, talking about masks and bees is about the only thing related to the market that I can do. I am up over $1k today but it means absolutely nothing.

Oh man, there are so many people who are like "Hey I can go into the woods" and have never been, they learn there are bugs out there! And they're massively unprepared for bugs and ticks and whatnot.

Anyway, boring account killing it today, yippee! Might pull enough to stash in a bank account for a vacation so I can keep dreaming about where to go. I hear Italy is good this time of year :D

I have no problem wearing a mask indoors in public/ at work or any place I can't stay 6 feet away. I'll gladly do so to get NAIL to $90 and NRGU to $50.

I wonder if it would be worth it with all that's going on? No idea if they're locked down, but it wouldn't be that fun if they were.
