Don’t forget ADS, they are built with better components.

Your prices are retail too. For the same breakdown with ADS 2.5 ECT shocks and Icon RXT leafs I spent $4k

I thought they just rebranded and he still has ownership stakes? I may be wrong...

Most people aren’t buying Deaver springs. You can shave nearly $500 off this total cost by going with Dobinson, ATS, or (sadly) Dakars

I went digging for the story I read about it but I'm not seeing it come up, did find a TTORA thread from 2007 about the change from Donahoe to Icon...does sound more like they just rebranded themselves and didn't sell off. The guy that owned Donahoe got arrested in 07 and sentenced to 8 years after getting busted in an undercover online sting, so I doubt he was able to manage things from prison. But...as to whether or not he continued to profit off the company or still does, I guess I can't say for sure. I sure as hell hope not. Hopefully they rebranded and moved the company as far from him as they could

Depends on the tire width chosen. Goodyear MT/R and Kenda Klever R/T are available in 265- and 275-wide, so 4.5" backspacing should clear the suspension.

If you wheel hard enough to use 35s, plan for cam tab gussets and upgraded brakes (4Runner Sport or StopTech), and carry a spare tie rod on the trail. Steering rack life will be shortened. Also need to plan for a new mount if you choose to run a matching spare.

I ran Icons front and rear for 8 years with zero maintenance and no issues, which is why I went with Icons again on my current truck.

    Pricing is a bit off.

But I think the argument is the same. Saving money is great, but if they leak all the time and then you uncover the horror stories of warranty times take half a year, what did you really get for the money saved?

All the same, OP good luck and I hope the install goes smoothly and you really like your set up. It looks like it's going to be a lot of fun.

So I won't address all your comments because most are nonsensical, so I'll poke at your metrics because you are comparing Apples and Oranges, you listed the prices for Adjustable Kings while the Stage 8 Icons are non adjustable(The adjustable shocks are in the Stage 9 kit for $5600), now lets price it out.

    Icon Stage 8 2.5 Coilovers - $1680
    Icon Stage 8 2.5 Rear - $2100
    Icon Stage8 RXT Pack - $330
    Icon Stage 8 Tube UCA - $840

Total is $4950 if you bought them separate compared to the $4500 of the complete kit. Now lets compare.

    King 2.5 Coilovers - $1520
    King 2.5 Rear - $905
    Deaver - $900
    SPC or JBA - $600

*I went with SPC and JBA because their balljoints are honestly better and moog is overall better than uniball

Total - 3925 which we can see is $500 cheaper but comes with an arguably better leaf pack and slightly better UCAs.
If we add in compression adjusters front and rear thats another $620 which add another valve for increase performance and adjustable valving on the fly, this only lends further into my argument.

Now lets compare what I actually paid for these a couple years ago not including inflation.

    King 2.5 Coilovers - $1350
    King 2.5 Rears - $750
    Deaver Stage II - $800
    SPC UCA - $365

I paid $3265....(over $1200 less) than the Stage 8 and I have overall a better suspension with better customer service, better availability for rebuild, better offroad valving characteristics, etc etc

I'll point out that I upgraded my rear shocks to 12" 2.5 with compression adjusters for $1200 which are still cheaper by a significant margin to the Icons while offering adjustability and significantly more travel.
