Yes it pulls to the right on any road I’m driving on and they are saying the alignment is off. Guess I’ll see what they say when I like it up and if it still pulls.

I hope it’s not to do with the tires but wouldn’t be surprised I guess If it was just based off others experiences I’ve read about anyways. Just another trip back to the tire place.

Punk-I had a car that the pulling was due to a tire.

Sounds great I've already had too much experience with dealers that don't know what they are doing. I would think the Tacoma being so popular that they'd have a handle on them.

Amen-- I too have run into stealerships whose mechanics were just "parts replacers". Actually my 1st new truck,GMC 4X4, dogtracked really bad. Dealer kept messing with front end parts. Finally took it to an independent shop who did alignment with measurements and gauges come to find out the rear differential tubes somehow got bent. Massive tow-in and negative camber . The independent guy said the truck was almost too dangerous to drive. Probably bent from transit or sold it as new but it was wrecked. Took it back to GMC and all they would do is work on the front end.

Wow! Sorry for the rant. What I wanted this dealer to do was take the rear end to a shop that straightened tubes OR I even asked to trade it in for the that years model. They didn't go for either. .......they are not in business anymore.

Do you guys/gals have independent shops do your alignment or the dealership?

I just had an alignment done by an independent shop. After I put new tires on it was drifting ever so slightly to the right (not just crowned roads). It was about $100. If I remember correctly, it was the caster that was off. Also, I'd rather give the smaller guys some business, plus they have a really good reputation.

I've only had independent shops do it - $90-100 every time on every vehicle.

changing tire sizes throws off alignment. I’ve never had it not be off, I don’t know why people keep saying it doesn’t affect it

They’re using the rear axle measurement for reference only. The rear isn’t adjustable, but there is a bit of wiggle-room if they loosen all the U-bolts and move the axle. They could prob make a slight adjustment that way. Maybe that’s what your dealer means....
Your dealer sounds pretty decent so far. Post the before and after specs when they’re done....

I assume the picture is just showing a random picture but the values are still my truck because the picture isn't the Tacoma or the words at the top aren't the same model Tacoma I have but I guess that doesn't matter idk. I have the 4x4 Tacoma OR.

He said the back was off. He thinks it could be when they shipped it maybe but he’s not sure. He said he gets maybe 2 a year with this issue.

This is the after shot they didn’t have the before.

I still feel like the steering wheel has to be a little left to get it to smdricd straight but it seems a lot smother than I’ve ever felt it drive. It always had some rough riding bounce feeling but that seems to be gone I hope unless I’m just feeling non ocd right now lol.

he said the back was in the negative teens like -15 or -21 idk somewhere in there he said he didn’t take a snapshot of it before hand.

The wheel still has to be turned slightly left for it not to go to the right tho so idk what’s up with that. Maybe it’s just super sensitive to road camber or whatever you call it.

your toe is unequal. 0.05 on the left and 0.12 on the right. That’s why it pulls. Make them do it again, or go to a better shop. I just got my alignment done this morning and I have 0.05 on both sides

I would suggest taking it to a tire shop that does alignments. Most offer free alignment checks.

I have a 20 Pro with 285/75/16 and I had the feeling it wasn’t set right from the factory because it took a lot of effort to keep in a straight line. Just picked it up from a shop I trust and here are my values, before and after. Feels much better in the short drive back to work.

Yeah it seems worse now than it was before.

I’ll probably take it to the local place that I got my tires and wheels mounted see if they can check it.

Pretty solid specs. The before wasn't awful, but still out. The added caster is probably what you are feeling that improves the track.
