Hey OP, didn't you have a bedslide or similar at some point? Have a pro/con's list to share?

    I have had 2.
First one - For Long Bed. new, new materials were lightweight, easy install, easy to use. Cons - need to drill bed, space outside of bedslide was not usable.

Second one - for short bed. Used, older model. Didnt need to worry about messing it up. Cons - heavy, older materials were wood and much heavier. Spaces on the sides were not usable. (I used the space in the front, which is why I bought a short bed one)

If you are looking, $1k new is expensive. It claims it holds 1k lbs fully extended, but im skeptical because our beds are composite vs a ford that has a metal bed. If you're going used, try for a barely used one at the lowest price that you can negotiate. Dont get wood unless your leafs can support it.

if you cant find anything used, message @eccracer104 to see if you can get a discount from AutoAnything

I'm looking at a used SB Cargo Glide for sub 5hunnit. It's not something I've really thought about, just because new they're out of my price range and they don't pop up used locally. When one did I thought, hmm that would be nice. But now I'm debating if I even want to spend the money when I'm about to build a garage, plus having an SB space is already at a premium.

I would avoid it if it has a wood base. Theyre crazy heavy and like you said, take up room. But if it helps in the long run, might be ok. And you can usually get your $ back when youre done. Also if you have an open bed, it doesn't make that much sense..

I had a bedslide before and it was super heavy, It was a wooden slide on a steel frame and it weighed a ton. Youll be adding alot of weight to the back of your truck for a small feature.

I wonder if it would be too overkill to make a maxtrax mount ontop of a plano case? Is that too overlander of me?

@RUSSELLTACO so I wanted to do this. But couldnt find any aluminum bar stock at Home Depot.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvXG3UVrLMU

And I have already tried this, but didnt like it that much:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_YfuabZ5gY

This guy just bolted them to the mount. So i guess his are just for looks.. :facepalm:Overlanders..
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkqN-6cTsMc

    So I found these:
    https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbil...-Plated-Universal-Clevis-Pin-815468/204276165
    https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-3-4-in-Zinc-Plated-Hitch-Pin-Clip-809648/204276265

And in the spirit of re-using/re-purposing things, I found my old sway bar mounting brackets. Made a couple cuts, and got some anger out with a BFH, and boom, they fit over my 1.75" bed rack bars. Im going to measure/drill/tack weld those clevis pins to a piece of 1" flat bar that I have laying around from another project. I will copy that stainless steel wire trick, since I used some of it on my swingout table.

^^ this will be happening over the next couple weeks while I get this and some other projects buttoned up.

Are they going to be long enough? I may just use pvc and a long bolt to do mine again so i can tighten them against the case
