You're right, they are spots, but I had them laying around so they'll do for now. I honestly will probably never or rarely use them like I do the ones on the bumper lol

Got a lot of stuff lol
As much as I think I would use a sliding rear glass I'm glad I have a solid one.

The few times I did use them, I was getting exhaust fumes in the cab. Now, with the non-reclining PRP seats, the head rests are maybe .25" from the window, so the sliding part will not clear the headrests when opened. Plus, a solid window will now be easier to tint too

I never open mine either. It's too big a PITA to reach back there with enough leverage to open them and with the dust and mud we kick up it would be like a vacuum cleaner, sucking it all in. Weird how that works. I remember a time when a sliding rear window was the shit. Now almost every truck comes with them standard and nobody uses/wants them, lol. I wouldn't go through the effort to change mine out though unless it was broken. But then the OGT's rear glass is pretty well tinted as is and I would never put tint film on my door glass. It'd get destroyed inside a year.

This was my favorite part of the Tacoma, reminded me of grabbing beer for my dad and his friends on hunting trips as a kid in the 80s.

Then I got the Tundra with power rear window. Literally the reason I bought it.

But I think y'all are right, I never see them open on anyone's rig...

I like mine. Comes in handy when wheeling when you have to yell to spotters that are behind you.

It does not come in handy when you leave it open at work because it's hot as satan's asshole out, a freak storm rolls through, rains inside your truck, immediately jumps back to 98* with 100% humidity, your carpet molds, you throw it out, drive your DD for a few years without carpet and eventually score some carpet on TTORA for cheap. All hypothetically speaking of course.

It's just as awkward trying to get that window open in a regular cab as well where you can reach it lol.

How would door glass tint get destroyed? In all my years, I've never had any tint on any window get messed up, aside from smashed windows

That was one of my favorite features on my 06 double cab Tundra... loved rolling that back window down with all the others when I got up to north Florida during the cooler months on the backroads in the woods... It's a shame that's not a standard feature on every truck, all makes and models

LOL, that weather pattern is an every day occurrence during Florida summers. Def want to avoid all that.

Side note, whens the last time you ventured over to TTORA? I logged on the other day and man, what a ghost town. It's a shame that place is a wasteland, and even bigger shame that Pirate is now going down the same path.

Mud on the inside wiper seal. My YJ windows were tinted on the door glass. Inside a year it was so scratched up that you could barely see the rear view mirror, much less what it was showing, at night. And that was just normal swap mud. Citrus mud is on another level of sharp. My glass is even scratched from it. I can only imagine how it would shred film. That's why Natty has only been out there twice and both times I avoided mud as vigorously as possible.

I also think on a 100% trail rig like yours, window tint is more of a detriment when you need a good view all the way around you (as well as an extra expense if the glass does get broke and has to be replaced). The back glass is fine for the most part though. Being as it doesn't go up and down and if you're careful cleaning it, it will stay in good shape.

Interesting. Never had mud issues with my tint, and I lived in mud from ages 16 to 22 lol.

As for the tint, I can't believe I've been without it for 6 years in this truck. But with the heat transfer from the floor, and the sun beating in, I'd like to get the windows tinted to keep at least some of the heat out. Only going 20% too, so not dark enough to hamper night time visibility. This will also keep down the glare from the fucks that run their obnoxious light bars at night when they are two truck lengths behind you lol

they're just trying to get a better view o' that sexy ass on the Q-tip, lol. I feel ya there, though. Mine is pretty effective with that in combination with the night mode mirror.

As far as the tint, I had my YJ back when you were probably just a wee bairn. Maybe tint technology has advanced since then, or maybe you didn't have 16x35 Boggers on 12" wide wheels that stuck out from under the fenders to the center groove. :D Of course now you have 37x12s that stick completely out from under the fenders so YMMV.

Hmmm I think I attempted to log in there last year at some time? I forgot my password and the reset link didnt work. The ad assault turned me away as well. The start of the downfall of TTORA for me was when they switched the forsale forum over to that stupid ass panjo system, man that sucked! I miss the wheeling events as well, I guess the south east takeover still occurs, but they plan it all on facebook which I'm not a part of.

I did the same thing recently too. Said screw it and never tried to recover my password. Same thing happened at Pirate with the password debacle too.

I'm probably going to register over on the irate4x4 boards though...talk about a mess on Pirate right now.

Man, I forgot about the for sale debacle that happened. Brings back the memories lol

Do it! I registered at Irate last week, and haven't really visited Pirate since. Irate is already a shitshow like the mid-to-late 2000's was with all the shit talk and shenanigans, so I feel right at home :luvya:

Got some generic speaker pods off Amazon and made up some aluminum brackets to mount them too, and in turn, mounted those inside the cab. Now I can finally hear my radio while driving.

Blew a bead at the Saturday night ride at citrus. Got it switched out and kept on wheeling with no other issues.

I don't care much about fb either, but there's always traffic there. I post here, and get no interest whatsoever. Plus, posting there will get you wheeling with more willing participants with different vehicles. I'm tired of wheeling with stock tacomas
