Haha, all good my friend! That does look comfortable. I still like my springy seat. :) Also, you made for great conversation in the suggested products at the bottom of this thread:LOL.jpg

What’s everyone’s take on clamp on pallet forks? I plan on moving some logs this summer, and want this to be easier.

I talked to my local Kubota dealership and found out the smoke weed every hour on the half hour. 260.00 per fork or the skid steer setup for 730.00.

I looked on the all knowing Google and found 1200 lb clamp on forks for 100-190.00 for the set.

    https://www.palletforks.com/skid-st...n8LoJQ9ZswAMBkIhlsxe7Q12wVdPpxQ4aAvLcEALw_wcB

Is there a better way to move logs?

Might be able to watch this place for a set close to you also.
I buy quite a bit from the auction site.

I have one. It’s the lt46. I don’t mow with it, it is only a snowblower for us. But it works pretty well.
It’s got the same shitty light duty transmission as most of the entry level riders out there, which I’m sure I’ll wear out before anything else on the machine.

I’ve never used the clamp on forks, I was blessed when I bought my tractor the man already had a set of forks with a quick attach frame.

I seen a fork set a while back for 350. I’m now kicking my own ass for not jumping on that.

Does your tractor have a quick attach bucket? My dad bought a set of forks and had a frame made for his loader. Think it cost him around $400.

Yes it does. I did find some good forks for sale on CL. The thought did cross my mind.

I don’t see why they wouldn’t either, as long as they aren’t over weighted they should be fine.

I would only buy the 1000-1500 lb ones anyway. My little Kubota will do ~1100 lbs.

I’d say no more than they cost they would be worth a try.

Any of you do field brush hogging as a side gig?

I have been doing it on the side a little, and been charging 40-45.00 per acre. I checked local pricing and it was 50-60 hr plus delivery fees.

People act like I’m nuts when I give them this price. Most of the fields are not clear and have 6-18” tree stumps everywhere as an added bonus.

I have done some, my tractor is 60hp and I use a 6’ cutter. I won’t do it for less than $65 an hour, especially if it’s new land I’m not familiar with. If you hit a stump or something you can tear something up or puncture a tire. I’ve had 3 rear flats in the past 5 years from bush hogging.

I think as long as you’re not overheating it a bunch, it should last fine. Ie: not super steep terrain, and not keeping the undercarriage plugged full of grass clippings.

I run a 5’ deck, and was wondering if I was being unreasonable.

A lady today thought I was double what it should be. I showed her one of the walk behind brush hogs can be rented for 40.00 per hour and she gets to do the work...and transport it. She probably won’t be calling back.

Another lady said it was fine and wants me over ASAP.

My dad always told me it doesn’t cost anything to sit in the shed. If someone thinks your high, move on and don’t worry about it is what I say.
