Only campground near me is "Shut down", both sides of the Riva' o_O

"Uncle" owns it and they will let folks use the park for boat launching and small picnics BUT daylight hours only....

They have Federal employees/Rangers that work the locks but even those hours might shrink..... The "New Normal"

    Everyone enjoy your evening :hattip:

 to be fair I'd planned this for a while.
But it does make sense in a way. Most hotels are closed, restaurants only doing takeout...you want to go somewhere but want to be self sufficient a RV makes sense.
Two things scare me: a lot of them will be heading my way. A lot of them have never camped before and likely have no idea what they're doing. They're going to ruin the nice places and chase the long time campers like myself out.

who peed in your Cheerios today?

I can think of more than a few ramifications including the ones you've stated.

Exactly why the Army Corp. "Shut down" our area :amen:.... folks from eastern Florida have been trying to "skirt the rules" away from their home jurisdictions.... Rangers politely said NFW

Just using our areas as an example:
More traffic for drivers to contend with
More wear on roads (more road maintenance)
More facilities being used increasing maintenance on individual sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, valves, etc.
    More water use
    More sewage
    More trash
More people in the same space creating friction among "regulars"
More loose pets (more dog poop not being picked up!)
Local agencies having less money to operate initially (since fees haven't been being collected)
More work for the same amount of staff

I'd also add in more "opportunists" stealing generators, propane tanks and camping equipment.

Since winter is more our season, I wouldn't expect as great of an increase than areas impacted during summer months. I think ours will increase, I'd bet yours will go through the roof.

I was including most of that in the "they'll ruin it for the rest of us" comment

More cases of Covid 19 here. They were traced back to a birthday party and a funeral.
A little to soon to go back to normal. Just my opinion and not being political.

Finding human poop out camping is an issue I deal with a lot...guess no one owns a shovel.

Ours have bumped up quite a bit. We were slow in getting started so it took a while. I'm figuring we'll level off soon, drop down till about late Sept-early Nov time frame then go back up. Seasonal field workers and snowbirds will be back then.
