Compression test all 3 right at 175ish.
Pulled air surge tank and pulling valve covers now try to verify chain timing

First pic of dirtier engine is motor in truck, 2nd is old motor. Bank one at tdc. The intake cam position is different I'm noticing... turned old motor over several times and it seems to be in same position every time at tdc. I never had the cam chains off new motor tho so not sure how that intake cam could have been turned ahead if that is the case.
Either way does that cam position look incorrect or what do you guys think?

Not sure if the owner is on here but I found it interesting he kept the air injection system intact.

Second picture looks correct. The lobes of the intake and exhaust should point towards each other. On cylinder one. If I remember correctly. I know that there are pictures in my build thread.

I agree cams are wrong why that engine not making any power on that entire bank, tore the old engine down to get a better look at everything. Going to start teardown on motor thats in there tonight hafta pull front cover back off again tonight. But going to use cams off my orginal engine. That cam is basically 3 teeth ahead wondering if cam phaser failed or the knock pin for it. I assume that's where to go. Is it possible to remove the cams without removing the front timing cover? That would speed things up otherwise hafta pull everything accessories back off time consuming for sure

You can pull them. It'd be best, obviously, if you can get both intake chain links lined up properly.

Loosen the 17 mm intake cam gear bolt.

Then remove the tensioner behind the inspection cover. Then rotate the the crank juuuuuust enough to get all of the slack on the passenger side. Then remove the cam's bearing caps.

Have some way to tie off the chain to keep tension on it while the cam is removed.

Work chain off of the cam and cam out of the head.

Pretty sure we pulled it off. Gonna torque sequence all the cam caps and roll it over make sure timing marks stay lined up. Knock pin was gone not in cam or phaser. Used cam from old motor

Guess this means that the AEM should work now?

Hopefully not too many changes were made on the AEM, and it'll work fairly easy from now on out.

Either way, the HP Tuner is still a viable future option.

Going to stick with the aem as it has way more features than the hptuner beta. Should be good to go. Everything else is aem too including meth kit. Our shop tuner is the shit. Bosses small tire drag car puts out over 2600hp

You've got me curious. Is the "new" engine built or just a stock replacement?

This kit, did your shop make it, or is it used?

I have only known of two owners in the past to run the Turbonetics brand. One guy was Alex, and used to be a member. Also used to make the few turbo kits, that PowerFab sold. Wondering if it was his old kit?

His intercooler setup, was reminiscent of a mustache. Lol.
