What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

That reminds me of something I always meant to do, but never did.....what size hose did the AC drain take? I'm sure I knew at one time, but....gettin' old ya know.

 

Manual on as you have a fan installed and run it with a manual switch?

You did the same upgrade I'll do when my 08 gets too old. Look for a clean 2015 manual AC (hopefully in superwhite) and ill literally swap everything over besides suspension and my sound system haha.

 

Any noticeable impact on your mpg? I understand that adding sound proofing adds pounds to your truck. Just wondering if it was enough to make any difference on mileage.

This is on my project list when I get around to upgrading my speakers.

 

Haha, I was wondering where that part in your video was! I unplugged everything and plugged them in neatly so they weren't fighting eachother and it slid back pretty easy after doing that.

 

Lol I tried to film that part but it was just too tight and really couldn't see much.

 

What are your thoughts on the bed strength after this? Still load it with shit? Run a short bed camper shell on it? Bed rack and rtt?

I assume bobbing the bed means the trucks are trail queens now?

 

5/8" heater hose. A tight fit cuz tube from the firewall is not rigid. I lubed up the outside of the "tube" before sliding heater hose on.

haha just spent a bit of time researching and realized that would be the answer to my question... there seem to be a bunch of different options...I have a CB drop installed and the shudder is minimal...but I think when the time comes the answer will be a tom woods driveshaft

 

probably need a carrier barring drop or axle shims

 

Should end up roughly as strong, no issues with a bed rack and RTT

 

The display goes completely away, no radio at all. Then when it comes back up with display the radio works.

I had the plan all ready to go a year or so ago, and for one reason or another it never got done. Taking off tomorrow to do some other shit, so maybe I'll actually remember to do it.

 

I’ve got roughly 3” of lift on the rear of mine, 3 leaf progressive + 1/2” shim. I added the carrier bearing drop kit and noticed no change. My shudder goes away after takeoff, but is most noticeable pulling a hill at 5mph or less
