Probably gonna lose it all

 

Indeed and his solution is to buy gold and silver stocks ... if the dollar goes insolvent because we're getting to the point that even a 60% tax raise on every American STILL wouldn't cover the minimum payment on debt let alone the principle.Sigh, at that point I don't see owning any stocks worth anything and hard gold barter system to me sounds like a joke as it would be civil war. Really sucks to hear an expert say America is basically done I mean can't we just reset everything to zero? I've never understood how we always help every other country yet we're broke I know I can't help anybody if I'm in the hole thousands of dollars.

 

I don’t see America’s debt as a bad thing. I read an article a while ago that explained if America sold off its assets, and used its income to pay off debt, it could pretty quickly. It’s like any family managing a household. I wouldn’t pay off my house if I had the cash, I’ll hang onto my 2.99% mortgage and invest what I have that’s extra. America would be dumb to pay off its debt, for what? It’s all scare mongering that has been going on forever.

 

I'm in the process of a refi at 2.75%. It makes no sense to pay that off early, unless everything else is taken care of.

 

i got mine at 3.5 but it was literally a bill down.

They literally just refinanced my house at lower rate for nothing.

 

Damn that is crazy. I got lucky just due to timing, but I am happy with what I got.

But my point on America and its debt, it's the same concept. Paying it off, just to prove we can, makes no sense. A lot of worry that I read about America's debt fails to take into consideration assets, and their value. America owns all of America (well, for the most part).

 

I'm coming off of a 3.5% jumbo, with zero closing costs.

Thankfully, my retirement will now cover all of my living expenses.

 

Sooo... in the process of doing DD, the stock went from $1.21 to $1.40.

Not sure if still want in.

 

$DKNG at a new 52 week high. Wish I had bought more last week. It just keeps going up and up. I did buy some more at the dip this morning

What term? I'm at 4.25% for a 30 year from Sep 2017, but we might be trying to move soon. It's painful to know that I could save money if we end up staying for (I think I did the math a while back) 3.5 years. But right now it's an unknown.

I got in, but not a ton in. Wish I was in more.

 

Watch out for it to go up and up, until it doesn't. I remember watching Beyond Meat do the same thing. You could have got rich off of it, in a very short time, if you knew when to get out.

 

I watched it for a while, then gave up.

 

I think they would abolish the dollar and create a fed backed crypto currency and basically default on the debt. That fed backed crypto currency would be an extraordinarily BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD idea. Evrey other country is broke as well so I guess we are in good company lol.
