    Quick trip report:

Our journey was through the entirety of the Lincoln National Forest. First night, we camped in the southern section near Sitting Bull Springs. We traveled from there to near Cox Canyon where we camped the second night.

We explored the area around Cloudcroft the following day, finding an amazing camp spot at 9600 feet of elevation. We used the rest of the day to head into Alamagordo to check out a pistachio farm and reload on booze.

On the final day we decided to swing by Sunspot Observatory, but it was closed to the public, so we instead walked around Apache Observatory. After that we headed home, avoiding I10.

Around Lampasas, I got pulled over for my taillamps not working and was issued a warning. I told the trooper it was probably a fuse, then he incorrectly told me if the fuse was blown my taillights and headlights would both be out. I raised he was an idiot, so I kept my mouth shut lol. I swapped out the blown fuse in the first parking lot and was good to go.

We were able to find camping spots away from the wind, so it wasn't too bad.

So for the AAR for my trip:

    The Good-
Plenty of food storage for my family of 3 +dog
DVD headrests worked great for the kiddo
Extra fuel was more than enough
Extra 5 gallon water can was exactly what we needed
Awning is perfect for sleeping under
    Solar charges fantastic
Regear is needed, but not immediately
Fuel mileage is acceptable (11 mountain/ 14 highway)
    Drawer setup was super handy

    The bad:
    Still brought too much food
Storage for pillows and clothes inadequate
    Not enough entertainment for kiddo
    Drawers constantly get stuck
RTT not big enough for whole family
    Alternate sleeping arrangements aren't effective
Fridge was stuck on 32° (new parts have already shipped, great customer service btw)

    Improves:
Acquire larger RTT/swag or ground tent
Larger DVD library and bring children's tablet
    Fix drawers
    Reevaluate storage

Nice one!!! Looks like a great trip! I'm a huge fan of LNF

That's great. I keep logs like this of all big trips to make the next one better.

    Looks like a great time
