What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

It’s tough to say. My back part of the bed got rebolted to the frame, and the composite part of the bed is joined with 1/8” stainless steel plates. I would run a camper shell or a bed rack but wouldn’t load up a bunch of weight. If I wanted a rtt I would build a bed rack that ties into the bed bolts so the frame is bearing the weight.

edit: only reason I would worry is I don’t want my body filler on the bed sides to crack from all the stress. I don't want to undo all that hard work. I don’t have any plans of adding anything up there anyways. At most, a softopper which weighs all of 30 lbs

I only have enough to buy a lift kit... While that sounds very appealing.. I couldn't feed me or gas truck until 6/12.

 

Do you have a long bed or short bed? Tom Woods website says they won't make a one piece over 75 inches (or 72 or something)...a long bed would be more like 84-85 flange to flange. Just wondering if TB gets around this limit by buying multiple DS per year.

Please tag me if can when you document this. I have been looking at these for a while. I am very curious to see if this can cause any vibes that weren't there before. I have a dclb with a carrier bearing drop with heavy dakars. I have no vibes but moving to a one piece might throw off my angles to add the need for shims.

 

I do have a little more info on this. I called them directly and spoke with Troy at TOM WOODS. If you measure face of flange to face of flange in a straight line, they can do up to 75" max 76". If it is anymore than that than they would not be able to do it. I haven't measured mine as of yet due to it pouring rain right now, but I will try to get more of an accurate measurement soon. They also stated that if it is between 72-76 inches to order directly through them and call them for the order.
