I see you're from Louisiana. You've definitely driven over some of the bridges I've drawn. I probably have 1,000 bridges on my resume over the last 10 years since I started that line of work. I've drawn bridges from TN, NC, SC, GA, FL, AL, MS, LA & TX. Mostly LA & TX though. I got a few hundred pump stations in NOLA and the surrounding area too. Seems like I get a new pump station job every other week since Hurricane Katrina.

nzbrock would you mind posting up any files you have of 96 xtra cab model you have been working on? I just finished up designing a rear Chevy 14 bolt trailing arm 4 link for 42" and am moving onto the front. I found what seems to be the same model as the one you have but with a single cab, I took the bed model from that and some dimensions from a few chassis drawings I found online to get where I am now. (I konw the ORI struts look disproportional, they were originally a 16" stroke model but I want to run 20's, still working on it).

Yea the one you found is most likely what I started with. I just stretched the cab and added a window. I don't know how accurate it is though.

I attached the original reg cab STL model. You will see it is pretty low poly.
I can't attach a STL so I had to ZIP it.

I opened the STL but nothing is showing up. Is there something else I should be doing differently?

What are you opening it with? It’s super tiny, not life size.

I tried fusion360, Windows 10 3D viewer, and also tinkercad. I don't see anything at all when it loads in.

As a CAD guy myself (2d wiring, panel, and network layouts for HVAC controls), that's really impressive!

Is the link missing or am I just blind? I've been looking for a CAD model for years.

I've also done Engineering and CAD forever. Solidworks mostly.

We cross train so I've done some 2d cad which is handy, but I'm mostly a fabricator

Thanks, managed to make it work.

For some reason the .stl only opens in Cura (tried Prusa slicer, Solidworks, Fusion 360 and the windows 3D viewer).

For others having a hard time. I downloaded the Cura software, opened the .stl and exported as an .obj, this way I could open in Solidworks.

The model is a serious lifesaver, I will be designing some plate armor and a roof top folding camper, I'll be uploading to share as a token of appreciation.

Yes, I sure did. I did the shop drawings for some 14" & 24" piles for the Herman Dupuis Road Pontoon Bridge Replacement project in St. Martin Parish, LA, back in 2021. However, we did not fabricate any girders for that project. The EOR elected to use slab span girders and we don't fabricate those at my plant so we were awarded just the sub-structure portion of the project. Also, back in 2015 we fabricated some 14" & 16" piles for LA316: Bayou Blue Pontoon Bridge Repairs project in Lafourche Parish, LA. My list of bridges is constantly growing as I've been here for 15 years now.

    lol yeah you're real late!

Revatalizing this thread. Did anyone ever find one? nzbrock did you ever finish yours? I upscaled the 3D printed one in Fusion but would love a proper model not my hack edition.

@nzbrock I would also love to see the finished (or current!) version of your 3D model. I'm doing a 1996 Tacoma Ext Cab rebuild from the frame up, and this would be very useful!
