Never tried it, but I think it would be tricky to get enough air to blow it out without getting too close and bending the fins. Big water hose on full for high flow working from top down seems to work best.

 

Are you running them off the factory head unit?

 

No sir, have them amped at about 150 a piece with Kenwood head unit

 

Peak or rms?

Edit: this is the first system in a while i've put together under 3000 watts rms.

 

Did they just switch to summer blend? I’m mysteriously getting much better gas mileage all of a sudden

 

They do that here? I know they did in Michigan, but hadn't heard that here.

I always go by RMS and select amps to match that number solely

 

I would, but need to be able to fit in a 6'8" parking garage for work. Right now the truck is at 6'5", so it's gonna' be close.

I was unfolding/separating fins on a contractor dinged unit my FiL picked up, only fitting I helped him after lending a hand and the garage&lift for my leaf install.

What a PIA, but for under $300 for the unit... definitely worth it (only one side of the fins was partially dinged...but that's a lot of smushed fins! Ha!). Now he's gonna have better HVAC in the garage then their old farm house!

 

Years ago, my oldest son backed into the condenser turning his car around in the driveway. I didn't discover it until I saw it in the daylight on my next day off a few days later. He had planned to fix it on his own by hammering it straight from the inside. I just shook my head when he told me his plan.

Yeah it took a while to find his fin separator tool...but we had a good go at it. He finished up on Memorial Day...had hernia surgery I found out yesterday, gotta love that man. No rest and no quit in him!
