That said. I did a thing. I gave my monies to 1up and bought their bike rack after months of watching for sales/deals or used ones that always sell faster than I can get around to them.

For real, never a sale on them and they dont show up used but once in a blue moon. Talk about "knowing what they have".

Have you had a chance to get out and ride the new bike? If so, how do you like it? I'm looking at this exact bike and I'm seriously considering grabbing it before someone else does, but trying to research as much as possible first.

yeah, and when they do show up used, they're sold within the hour. infuriating. I was close once but...oh well. might as well spend some more and get it now. stupid addictions. I mean hobbies.

On the topic of 1up, have you all heard of all the drama with the original inventor!? There were lots of legal battle between him and the new 1up owners but those have resolved and he's getting ready to put his updated design on the market. It looks like improvements all around on an already great rack. https://quikrstuff.com/

I've gone out about 3-4 times so far.

I've mostly ridden mid-range cross country bikes, this is my first "trail" bike.

    Pros:
Shifting was incredibly smooth. This is my first 1x and I absolutely love it. I had to adjust the rear derailleur because of some slipping in the highest gear. But no issues since.
Fork is 130mm travel. I would have beefed it into a tree if it weren't for the fork. I'm a new-ish trail rider and picked some absolutely horrible lines and the fork saved me. It is an air shock with compression adjustment, rebound adjustment, and lock-out.
Alternator dropout allows you to adjust the geometry without any replacements. I'm still messing with that to get a good feel for it.
The Salsa chili pepper logo on the headtube is awesome.

    Cons:
Personally don't like the WTB Volt seat. I wear shorts with a chamois though so no big deal.
No colors to really choose from. I originally hated the lime, but it grew on me.
Derailleur isn't on a hanger. Hung from the alternator dropout.

Personally I love it. Worth every penny.

So question for the drivetrain Gurus. If I go from SRAM 11 speed to 12 speed GX, I can use my existing boost crankset and 30T chainring correct?

There's $100 difference between the groupset without vs with cranks so if I can reuse parts, it would be helpful.
