Exactly! I had a few people be like "Don't bob it, it'll look stupid." which made me want to do it more. Now they love it. Sure it may look a little disproportionate, it's not for everyone, but dammit I love how it turned out.

When I first saw this, with all the jack stand recalls, I thought

Then realized the truck was on the ground, and just the cross bar only was being supported.

I like how that is your concern and not the fact it's on a plastic bucket  Yeah that was just there to hold up the bar as I was building it.

Fake it till you make it amIright. Until this I'd never worked with body filler, or tackled a fab project as large as a rear bumper. I just kinda jumped in the deep end but it worked out well.

Top notch fabrication here & all for such a great improvement in offroad prowess. What a killer job you did, Man. :muscleflexing: Hopefully I can see this thing in person someday, the dimensions are incredibly rad. 10/10

But, but your resale value is crap now. You should have just sold your truck and got a 3rd gen with a short bed. That would be the proper TW thing to do.

OP should have trolled us and let someone suggest a “why not put on a short bed” short bed and then been like “aww man that would have save me 100 hours of labor!”

I don’t need to. No one does this much work on a vehicle without more big ideas. What’s next?

In the immediate future is half doors. I have a pair of OEM doors waiting to get cut up. I'll get started on that soon enough. After that, not sure. Now I want to cut out the front cross member and build a front bumper for increased approach angle. Use the money from selling my bumper/light bar to buy a tube bender and notcher. Just need to see if I can do something like this and squeeze a winch in there.

This is the equivalent of bobbing the front. Or maybe that'd be SAS'ing and moving the axle way far forward. Who knows.
