Yup, was installing new speakers and wired the left rear door wrong, green on top, white on bottom.

Now I can't open that door, any help is much appreciated.

Can you manually unlock the door from the inside?
Or if you press the driver door master lock switch to lock, does that rear door unlock?

I dont know about toyota but on a ford if you wired the lock motor/actuator it would work in the reverse of normal.
Unless this is a rear door with child lock on there is no reason even if wired backwards that the interior handle would not open the door unless something else is wrong.

Based on what you have said the only way forward is to remove the interior door panel and see what is going on with the latch.

Why did you have to rewire the latch lock? You said you replaced the speaker. Was there any issue with the latch beforehand?

It is a rear door with a child lock on it, definitely not working in reverse order to open. Unfortunately it's a catch 22, to remove the inner door panel you have to open the door.

Didn't have to rewire the lock, but you do need to disconnect the wires so you can fully remove the inner door panel out of your way and install the speaker.

Not sure what I can do here outside of cutting into my door panel from the inside.. Reversing the leads from the battery seems like bad idea.

Find the two wires in the cab and reverse them temporarily?

How the hell did you lock the door with speaker wires? Start checking fuses you could have blown one.

Could a locksmith use a slim jim or similar tool to unlock the door internally? Might be cheaper than a new door panel.

    Locksmith isn't a bad idea.

For removing the door panel with the door closed I have done it on other vehicles when there was mechanical broken latch parts in the door. I practice on the other sides door to see how it comes off. Remove all screws securing door panel then try to remove it with as little damage to the door panel as possible.

Can you access the connector to the rear door that is inside the cab division of the doors?

It is if you do it that way (at the battery)
The unlock/lock feature is done by reversing the current direction. You just need to find the correct wires you think you switched upstream the harness.

Thanks for the replies guys, going to see if I can find the wires closer to the battery and switch them there.

Next solution will be to get a professional to open it for me.

I'm special. I didn't lock the door with by messing up the speaker wires, I did it by messing up the two actuators white and green that hookup to the door latch. To make things easy on installing you disconnect those two actuators and remove the door panel completely. I messed up when I hooked up the actuators the wrong way putting it all back together.

For now I just tell people to get in on the other side, good news is the sound system is awesome.

OP, when you say left rear, is that as you sit in the car (driver) or as you look at the vehicle from the front?

Sounds like you get a pro to put the speakers in next time. Why not just reverse polarity upstream of the motor and unlock. That’s how all other door locks work.

Notice there is no WHITE wire for the Unlock/Lock.
I suggest removing negative terminal of battery, get access to the 1H connector, remove it.
Apply power and ground to the wires 10 & 12, if no unlock then invert the applied power. Open all doors before you disconnect the negative terminal to the battery.
