Quick back story, 2018 Tacoma 4 door OR, had since new, started hearing a clunk from drivers side front since about 10k miles, brought it into Toyota to see if they could find it, and they could not. Fast forward to today at my 20000 mile service, they were finally able to diagnose the problem.

The driver side front two cab/frame bushings and bolts have split?!

    Anyone hear of this before?

I go off-road but nothing ever abusive or hardcore.

The dealer is making it seem like they're doing me a favor by replacing it under warranty, but I find it very unusual they "split."

I have asked them to save me the parts so hopefully I can show photos next week sometime.

Those bushing can get loose, so with minor off-roading it is possible to snap them. Even driving to the mall could if they get loose enough, some of those driveways really get the flex going. At least it’s covered under warranty. Even if it weren’t covered, it’s very cheap and easy to do on your own.

Have the same problem myself keep fighting with the dealership they keep insisting nothing is wrong or to bring it back when it gets worse. My question is as this seems to be a very common problem, When they replaced the bushings did they replace them with the same ones that are failing? just wondering if it would be better to replace them myself or keep fighting with the dealership

I don’t know if they used an updated part. Dealer I went to immediately had shop foreman come out to listen to noise when I mentioned I had a noise concern. I could duplicate it by rocking truck side to side, once he heard it he said they would take care of it.

Some shops are better than others, I took mine to Longo Toyota in SoCal, they’re usually pretty good to deal with.
