Water coming from dash

I have some water dripping out from the passenger side under the dash in the middle. (See pictures). Carpet is a little wet under the mat also.

All I can think is ac, but it's never happened before.

No mods, no rain, but it's been hot so have had ac running alot. I have checked some other threads, but havnt seen anything exactly like this.

Any clue on what I can do to prevent this from happening again?

Is your A/C drain dripping water? It might be clogged.

 

It is dripping a decent amount from the AC drain tube. Just as normal it seems

 

A Toyota tech explained to me that if you live in a high humidity location like say Texas, and you always have the recirculate on it doesn’t allow the fan blower to dry the excess moisture that can build up. Two solutions he gave me. One run it for awhile with the recirc off, and two use the attached product to clean the AC drain line. Just my two cents.

Just spray that stuff right up the tube and flush it out?

 

Remove your cabin filter and spray it down in the blower fan. It’s a foam concentrate, and will help with any odor buildup you may have in the process. Bought it on Amazon for $15 I think. Good luck.

 

as long as it isnt anti-freeze/coolant, due to a heater core failure, it is probably the ac drain, or sunroof drain, one or the other is plugged. Ski

 

He’s right, I forgot to ask if you have a sunroof. Monitor your coolant level; if your mat is still damp you should be able to determine if its antifreeze because of the odor that the coolant gives off.

 

Checked color with a white rag and smell so it's definitely not antifreeze. Thankfully

And no sunroof.

 

Frustrating that the default recirculate position is ON.

 

I think with Carista and a Bluetooth dongle, or Techstream and a tactrix cable, you can change that default setting to off.
