    Anyone know if a 10” fox shock up in the rear of a first gen? I only have 1.5 inch lift. I don’t want the islets to be extended too long. Help appreciated. All the 8” shocks are out of stock

    Pretty sure they wont fit. I ordered Deaver J59 pack and came to the conclusion that my best bet to get the most out of my travel would be using the 10" shock and just relocating.

    You were suggested a relocation in your last thread as well if you want better than what's offered as a direct replacement. :facepalm:

    You weld lower mounts on the axle and then add a cross member and weld upper mounts under the bed

    No ones an expert until they go through the process. A lot of you are out to get the longest travel possible. I want the most durable and easily serviced option. As for my pause to relocate. I don’t want to remove the bed. I don’t have the equipment and the cost is preventative. As is I’m looking at the icons and relocating the shock in a plane with the original mount and using the flip kit, welding on the bump stop

    I also don’t want to negate the value of the flip kit by welding on 3” tabs

    If you don't care about performance and max travel then I suggest throwing on something along the lines of this. No need to spend a bunch of money on expensive shock brands if your not going to use them. A lot of guys run these shocks and they hold up great.

    Exactly this.

    Bilstein 5100s are more than enough for most people.

    Get Bilstein 5100s and call it a day.

    Max travel and performance mean two totally different things. I’ve gone mid travel up front but I want something at least to keep up. I don’t need 10” of travel but I would like the reliability of a remote reservoir. That’s what sent me down this path in the first place, the stock replacement fox to match the fronts isnt available with rr unless you go with the universal. I don’t need the 10” but if it was the only one available I’d get it. I’m going with icon

    What makes you think;

    That the rear won't keep up?

    That 5100s aren't good enough?

    That you'll even come close to using your truck to its fullest potential?

    You are way over thinking this; unless you perform a rear shock relocation which you can't and won't, just stick to 5100s or the Icons if you want to spend the cash (they're good too).

    You can find a wide variety of short body Bilsteins with reservoir that'll fit, but you'll then need to figure out what valving works for you.

    Poly performance specifically kept steering me To the fox’s every time I went to order the icons. I doubted myself. I can always change out the rear again later it is a mater of function. I’ll use the truck to it’s fullest. I’ve had bilstein on my Vw’s of the past and no matter the shock diameter I blew them all. I for those reasons don’t trust them

    I’ve spoken to damn near every vendor at this point. Considered 15 plus sets ups. If you haven’t followed my build I am among the most obsessive types and have spent the last 9 months on this forum rebuilding almost every system in this vehicle. That deadline is fast approaching and this is my last decision and repair. Ideally I’d have liked a suspension that matched at all 4 corners for servicing ease but I am settling for the line of best fit
