    Ok smart people...

I have a used DeWalt 12" Compound Miter Saw that I got last year. Yesterday was the first time I've used it and while it works great and cuts very nicely it's just a bit off.

I put a magnetic digital gauge on the blade and it was 89.90 so I got that to 90 degrees. The blade to the fence was off a strong 1/16th so I reset that and I'm still off less than 1/32nd from the fence side to the out side of a 1x8 board.

My question is this... Are my expectations too high for this type of saw? It has a thin kerf DeWalt blade on it and I'm wondering if that's the issue.. I don't know the right word.. deflection maybe?

    IMG_20200529_161714819.jpg

You can see at the bottom of the picture the pencil line is still there and it's less than 1/32nd of an inch of wood showing.

The blade cuts perfectly square up and down... Just not from one side to the other.

    Thanks in advance!

are you relying on the notch to be perfectly at 90 degrees? The whole angle scale at the near the front of the saw is adjustable

That's how I squared the blade to the fence... I don't see any way to adjust the fence.

The blade is square... I'm wondering if the thin kerf blade deflects that much or if my expectations of this type of saw are too high.
