The past couple of weeks, i've had the *ahem* pleasure of providing security for the local voter registration, election commission, and absentee voting precinct...

I'm typically on traffic detail just making sure people are keeping the roads clear and parking legally etc...however we're there should there be a problem in one of those offices

I get to finish this detail tomorrow...and so far its actually gone incredibly smooth...the crowds have been surprisingly pleasant and patient...

i have a REALLY bad feeling about tomorrow and I'm pretty on edge about it...I can only hope it goes as smoothly tomorrow as it has for the past 2 weeks

I was hoping to get assigned to the late night shift for once the polls close so i could just be security for poll workers bringing back ballot boxes etc...but I got stuck on the 10-7 shift instead...

no biggie...but ive got this strange feeling about tomorrow

    anyways

when youre in line tomorrow voting...send a positive thought/prayer/whatever you believe in my way...help keep me safe tomorrow!

thanks in advance and i'll advise when i make it home safe! :D

    well i survived

we've had pretty much a nonstop line for the past 2 weeks...and ZERO problems

turned out tho my bad feeling was legit

around 1730 today we were across the street and heard a commotion at the front of the line...some guy was yelling and cursing out someone else for who knows why...i yank his butt out of line and pull him aside and try to calm him down...he wont let me talk...continues to curse...i have another officer show up and at that point he got a set of new bracelets...we have him leaned up on one of the car while we fill out the paperwork etc...he keeps trying to walk off and continues to curse and yell etc...so we throw him in the back in the cage...at which point he decided it was a good idea to try and kick out the door/window...

had he calmed down he probably would have walked away with a ticket and a fine...instead he'll be spending at least tonite in county lock up with a charge of breach of peace and fine of $1092.50

    footnote to above incident

the guy racked up a number of charges which we let him off of...but i just talked to the arresting officer (my backup because he's the one who actually laid hands on him and cuffed him) and he was officially charged with Breach of Peace Aggravated in Nature

    hahahahaha

had we not cuffed him when we did...he probably would have escalated it to the point that he might have needed it...

however as much bad press as tasers get and as many news cameras thatwere there...we'll leave it at i like my job :)

You need to remind the public that tasers are non-lethal devices that law enforcement is not afraid to use. Sometimes they forget.
