Looks like the beginning of a beautiful relationship with the new street triple. Picked it up last night, had a short ride through some twisties and then rode to work today. Fuel light came on 5 miles into my 11 mile ride home. Came to a rather scary stop across 3 lanes of traffic as the bike rapidly lost speed going up hill 2 miles from my exit. While I waited for about an hour for a friend to bring me gas with a lingering thunder storm overhead, a state trooper who saw me from the other side of the highway as he was wrapping up handing out another ticket was nice enough flip a bitch over to my side so he could stop and give me a hard time about putting my old plates on the bike. I politely explained to him that I sold my old bike two days ago and bought this one and that i couldn't transfer the tags because the DMV was closed, so I thought it would be better to have a tag on it that links the vehicle to me, versus no tag at all. He about lost his mind reading my the riot act about falsification of vehicle identification as I apologized and offered to remove the plate immediately, at which point he calmed down and "kindly" let me off the hook for a "serious infringement." Thanks for your help officer. o_O

Today I learned....better to have no tags at all and a bill of sale then tags from another vehicle.

But we are both home safe, I still have a grin on my face.

Hope you all got to go out and scoot today!

Either your shop sucks, or they’re insanely busy. Not one shop I talked to said it would take more than a day, unless I got there late.
    Eh he’s ok.

I would never have even considered putting old plates on a new vehicle. That just seems like you’re asking for trouble. I’ve been riding around with no plates since I got my bike in March

Listen...if a dealership will let you modify your engine , and do a tune.. and give you 5 year warranty... as long as they do the work....it’s not a bad move

It’s a Harley. Everything is crazy expensive to fix. It is crazy seeing all these high mileage (20-30k) for sale. Me over here like.

I like to Harley bash as much as the next guy on a Thai built English bike, but the only ones who thinks that's a high mileage bike tell you that in between bar stops, if they got the bike out at all this month.
