Not positive on that. Hopefully it does. Going to work on getting everything installed this weekend.

You don't get a registration key if you already have one, but if not you get one and it does give you access to p5F files.

Every previous customer who swapped from dongle gets vF + reg key for flash manager P5F files, since we are releasing 2.0 only on P5F

Wait, there is going to be a new cable to update the Openport 2.0? I am not too happy with Tactrix, I asked them to ship USPS but they shipped FedEx so I have a huge brokerage fee right now.

Understood but my cost for this cable is now in the C$283 range and I will not be happy if Tactrix comes out with a refreshed/improved one soon.

From my understanding its a cable that @OVTune is creating. All I saw was a couple posts like this one below, last line i made bold.

So after we returned our dongle license. The only thing we receive is VFTuner registration. And you are saying that will be a P5F and be able to use flash manager? All I received was the VFTuner registration. Sorry for my confusion.

After you returned your dongle, you are/were supposed to receive the following three separate items:
    1. vfTuner license (to modify tunes)
    2. Reg keys for Flash Manager app (used to flash p5f files)
    3. "Credits" for one (1) ECU ID Tune pack (not released yet)

I only received the VF tuner license. And was told by Rafael I would not get anything for p5f flash manager and I will have to use VFTuner.

I already have flash manager. Been a customer for over 2 years hence the Dongle trade-in. Have to register VFTuner still. Just thought I would get P5F registration and VFTuner. Unless I'm completely confused and the VF Tuner registration will work with flash manager. But I was told by Rafael I would have to use VFTuner only.

Yes, it should. Try opening p5f flash tool. If none of the buttons are grayed out and it shows your system id and name, you should be good to flash p5f files.

Yup, it's the same as Flash Manager except for working with a different file extension/type when flashing.

All I know is that I returned my dongle and received both a vfTuner Master Key and a Flash Manager reg file. They are/were two completely separate items.
    • The Master Key is a unique 25-character serial # that you manually enter along with your "Master Email" address when installing vfTuner. This unlocks the vfTuner software, and only the vfTuner software. This allows you to view, modify, and flash vfTuner-format files only.
    • The reg file is an actual Windows Registry (.reg) file that you receive and install separately in order to unlock p5f capabilities in Flash Manager -- which is a separate app that is still used for all flashing purposes. (a button within vfTuner simply opens the separate app when you go to flash something)
If you don't receive and install the separate reg file, I think you may be limited to only using the vfTuner-format files in the future, rather than having access to all the p5f files, as well.

I could be wrong I guess, but this is how it was explained to me when I received the two separate items -- Master Key and Reg File -- after returning my dongle.

    @Rafael@OVTune @OVTune - is the above accurate?

Thank you. That's good to know. Because I was told by Rafael. I would only have access to VFTuner. After I sent in my dongle license. I was confused on why I would no longer have access to flash manager and the tunes within.

Sorry for the cross-post question from the development thread. Figured it might be more appropriate to ask here.

Re: May 31 OVTUNED post #64577 in that thread
"The only product we have had issues with where we couldn't deliver on is handhelds, ran by an outside company. And we are working with each individual for their needs(swap, refund, etc)."

Is the handheld dead? Is this different information than the first post in this thread? If yes, that's too bad, the convenience of the HH was a definite plus.

Sorry if I've misunderstood and that is referring to something else specific.

    Thanks, much appreciated.
