    Lynn and I have been very fortunate. Our home sits on 57 acres - an old horse farm - that her parents bought back in 1969 as a summer/weekend place. We were both 19 when we were married and her parents let us live n the old farm house on the property. We originally subdivided 5 acres out where our house now sits but eventually bought the entire property and we moved back here after I retired from the Army and built our home. It's about 25 minutes north of Scranton off the NE corner of the Lackawanna State Park.

    I took these pictures from a hot air balloon - Lynn and I crew for the company and we get to fly sometimes...and sometimes fly over our property. This was 8 years ago so a few things have changed but you can get a good idea of how it is laid out. In the distance view you can see most of our property - it is basically the area within the pentagonal shape framed by the trees. You can see our house in the right center and then the original farm house, barn, stable, the 2 ponds, etc. Lynn's mom is 93 and still living on her own in the old farmhouse - we care for her and are happy to have her where Lynn and I started our lives together. Not sure what we'll do with it once she is gone - we have remodeled the upstairs and kitchen so far...but she likes the rest as it is so we won't disturb her. :D

    The pool is now filled in - it lasted 42 years before it leaked too much to fix - you can see where we put the new pool close to our house in one of the earlier pictures I posted. We affectionately refer to our place as: Mighty Mortgage Manor.

    Good mornin, fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians!! Happy Whatever today is! Yesterday turned out to be gorgeous for most of the day - rain came in late afternoon and we got a few showers and downpours. Hopefully today will be as nice as predicted. Think I'll wash the truck and cars...and spend some time at the pool. Cut the grass tomorrow!

    It is...but I don't hunt. We do let some folks we know and trust hunt the property - from where I am sitting I can see the truck of one who is here for the last day of spring turkey season. Deer, turkey, pheasant, rabbits...and bass in the large pond.
