I think at this point they'll either replace it under warranty which would be awesome but if not then I'll buy the stage 2 urd kit and put that in. Hopefully that will hold up better than the oe clutch

Check for oil around the seal between the transmission bell housing and the engine, the engine rear output shaft oil seal might be leaking a bit and it got to the clutch plates.

How's the Stage 2 URD treating you? I've just been informed my 2017 TRD Sport's Clutch (just bought the truck a month ago) is toast as well at 65,000 km. Researching replacement options.

I've been on it about 12k miles, the stage 2. i am hugely impressed with it, totally great. there was an initial install issue (noise symptom) relating to a small spacer which unfortunately needed replacing, so we had to redo the install and TOB just after the first time, but i regard that as a pay-to-play issue since this was an optional performance upgrade. since then it has been spot on. would do again no doubt. it's a solid strong and consistent part.

whoa, i just wrote that yesterday and I'm coming back to add unfortunate info...

i am at the shop i use for everything including all the clutch work, here today just for a MT fluid change. but aside from that, something this morning wasn't right, a little noise, and an uneven pedal feel. my builder took my keys from me and isn't giving them back... he said the fingers on the pressure plate are moving all over the place and it's unsafe to drive with the transmission at risk, so the truck is staying here and getting opened up again for the third time now. he's not sure what's up until it's open.

sorry for the confusing info, but i don't want to just sign off on a solid good report at the moment. I'll have more info coming soon, probably in another thread. fml

Woah! That's a bummer man. Which thread?

My guy called around, and none of his clutch guys have any stock on clutches for this truck in Canada (Yay! Canada!). URD is all sold out, so we decided to order stock clutch from Toyota. Sounds like that might of been the safest bet after all...

URD was sold out of the stage 2 clutch when i finally bit the bullet and started buying parts, go figure. I did get the heavy fly-wheel from them though and between that and the OEM clutch and pressure plate replacements from Toyota, i have had no issues yet. Towed the camper a few times after the replacement and the heavy flywheel i think makes a huge difference in the engagement. Would recommend.

U mentioned the clutch slipping with a trailer . Does it slip without it ? Or did u burn the clutch towing ? Being that it’s been a few months the dealer u bought it from didn’t have a warranty on it ?
