What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Gave her the first washing of the year

 

The the LED light mod on the interior and license plate lights. Finally added the RCI Maxtrax mount and a pair of Maxtrax.

 

Gave her a wash before heading to the lake

 

Used it as a template to make a bed extender, to haul a canoe, because all the local stores were sold out of bed extenders. I thought I had more 2” box tubing but I didn’t, so I had to get a little creative with what I had.

 

FINALLY got around to properly washing the Maine winter, spring pollen, and masses of bug guts off of ‘er, followed by a fresh coat of wax.

....then in my post-coital excitement, my inner retard said “hey let’s test the rain-x” forgetting the spray and wax bottles were still on the windscreen. Off to Napa for new wipers in the morning. Lol. Rain-x is in perfect working order though.

 

Polymer coated rotors installed.

 

I changed the oil, washed it, clay bared it, and waxed it, also sized up the 37x12.50’s from my old ram. If only I had the guts to cut up the fenders lol.

 

Looks like I did what most people did today. I finally gave the taco a bath. Detail Sunday and clean the interior. Then maybe I can see my radio screen.

 

For a second I thought they were on, lol.

 

Used it to pick up some plywood from Lowe's for the storage shed floor.

 

I did a couple of things today...



So, the mandatory oil change for the Taco.

I read a post someone made around January or so, a TW member got his Kings stolen while parked on the street on a normal day.

I HATE THIEVES!! Even though this happened in the Left Coast - The People’s Republik of Kalifornia, well, it did HIT ME how super easy is to get your gear off the Taco.

Like someone mentioned on the thread, all the asshole needs is a Harbor Freight cheapo floor jack and a battery operated impact gun plus a couple of 19 mm wrenches, and boom! He walks away with at least a couple of grand of gear, Kings, Icons, Foxes, etc...

I KNOW NOTHING IS 100% THEFT PROOF - IF THE WANT IT THAT BAD, THEY ARE GOING TO GET IT...

All you can do is MAKE IT HARDER for those assholes, hopefully, they will see that it will take them a few more minutes and they move on to the next victim.

I tried matching them up as much as I could to get an idea what they would look like, they look really good but I would have to change the rim since it’s only 5 lug

I would like to but I tow a trailer a couple times a year so I couldn’t

 

Well the Optima that I had in the truck gave up 1 week after the waranty on the battery expired. I put in a X2Power (Northstar), and the HKB variable voltage booster I guess we will see how long this one lasts.

 

Never mind my bumper being stolen, I would feel my wallet being stolen at that price. $219.00?!

 

It’s all relative. The set of Icons that I have was $1364.95 - so an additional $219.00 is worth it to me...

Like I said in my post - it blew me away how easy those coilovers would come down, so is just a little extra insurance and peace of mind to me.

 

Heard a weird clunk on the highway. Got home found this in my passenger fog. Looks like I am omw to the lighting forum. Initial research looks like I can get some decently priced street legal aftermarkets.

 

Mounted the winch and got dirty at barnwell ohv park!

 

I pulled it out of the garage.... and put it back in. Also topped off tire pressure.

 

Man you think thats bad, I'll have to post up pictures from my work truck up in Alaska. Just did the suspension on it yesterday and i didn't even bother unbolting anything i just started cutting.....like everything including the leaf springs.
