do you have adjustable upper arms? appears whoever did this, knew what they were doing, getting as much caster as possible, and trying to zero out everything else. should drive well, and not wear tires. Ski

I don’t have adjustable uppers, just stock. We talked about CAs but said let’s look at the numbers first. We’ve taken our cars to that shop for alignments since I can remember. You know they do it right when they ask what weight the driver is and the weight of the passenger if you drive with one more than 50% of the time. I will say it’s a tad more expensive for alignment, something like ~$264 otd but I trust them and i rather whole ass it one time than half ass it twice! The drive home from work on the freeway was much more enjoyable, less slop in the steering and I’m not bouncing in between the lines following the ruts in the road.

After Toyota seems to have not gotten it aligned after two attempts I'm taking if to my local shop that put the wheels and tires on it to see if they can get it aligned tomorrow afternoon. Hoping they can get it fixed for me.

StormTroop, I haven't heard this in a LONG time from an alignment garage. The 1st time I ever heard about asking weight was when I first worked for the state and a laborer took his Chevy truck in for alignment and they made him sit in it while doing the work. He was a big man!

I ain’t big lol, not even 200! I was surprised the first time they asked me that when I took my E36 M3 in for one a year or two ago. They primarily work on stuff for some higher end cars and not trucks but they understand exactly what you are telling them and can do trucks no problem, nice people too. Tru-Line Wheel and Frame for any Seattle area members like me!

Good to find shops that do quality work. We have a tire/general repair that had a top notch guy do wrenching and alignments. He was an honest guy and a real good mechanic. But alas he took a different job with the local school district bus garage. I don't know who they have now.

Just got the truck back from the local shop and they said Toyota screwed it up and my tires would have worn bad.

On the way back to work it still seemed to drift to the right when the wheel is straight so I guess I'll see what happens when I get in after work. I'm trying to get on the most flat areas of the road and not have any right leaning roads but idk just a little weird no one seems to notice it going to the right when the wheel is straight.

Still goes to the right when the wheel is straight so I don’t get it.

Might have to swap the wheels around myself to see if I can diagnose a bad tire

I should get my truck (1500 miles on it) checked, the alignment isn't perfect but again it isn't too bad. It will drift slightly towards the passenger side.

So the alignment seems good it doesn’t pull but the steering wheel isn’t straight. I have to keep it slightly left for it to go straight but it doesn’t pull.

Is there a way to straighten it myself since this is the 3rd time I’ve tried to get an alignment and the wheel isn’t straight or does it need to be straightened while they do an alignment?

Punk this is exactly what my truck does, wheel slightly to the left but eventually going down the road (with a pitch) it will drift ever so slightly right. I feel that is normal. (except the wheel). My wife and I were discussing this and she said "leave it alone"!

A good shop like the one I went to will recalibrate your steering wheel after alignment. For me, it was an extra $48.

Mine can be on the most straight road ever with no lean to the right and if I keep the wheel a little left it stays straight but if I put the wheel dead center it will go right.

StormTroop-How do they recalibrate the steering wheel? Do they toe-in 1 side and toe-out the other (If there is an adjustment on both wheels), or pull the steering wheel off the steering shaft splines and realign?

toe in one side, toe out the other. or take it back to the alignment shop. I good shop takes it for a ride before and after to check the steering wheel alignment as part of the total alignment

This is what the shop I USED to go to did. The mechanic they had (who was great) is gone now.

Pretty sure it’s done electronically now. My scan tool is able to do it to one of my bmw’s.
They hook it up to the obd2 port. Turn the wheel side to side, it does it’s thing, the tech then aligns it back to zero and then it’s back to normal!

Taking it into the dealer or another shop and telling them you want the steering angle sensor recalibrated is what you're going to need to do to fix that.
