Does anyone have some pictures of the TC dual shock hoop installed on a 2nd gen?

Few pics here - I’m assuming the only difference between the hoop for the regular kit and the other kits is shock placement.

This might be from a 4Runner - strange that most google image search results comes from 1st gens / 3rd gen 4runners.

Are you looking for a specific detail? Install is straight forward, but if you've got access to a tube bender and a free weekend you could save a lot of money. You still have to verify the fit before welding everything, so all buying the kit does is it saves trial and error part if you start from scratch.

@fatfurious2 does know a guy with a tube bender.

Although those top plates are the bitchy part to make.

I think the dirt designs top plates are superior to everything else I've seen, secondary mount and a crossover mount built into a single package.

Dirt king had a generic set up that welds to a piece of bolted to the top of the tower, that might be the easiest set up to copy if someone was starting from scratch.

    Edit:
Looks like it's not angle, but this might be easier to make than TCs version

Is there any reason Camburgs, TC, Dirt King, etc hoops wouldn’t work with the others kit ? Assuming all are for a 3.5” kit.

It just depends on shock placement - if you had to you could use another kit that didn’t exactly work and cut the tabs off and buy or make new ones that fit and weld them on. You just want to make sure you get the most use of your travel and not limit it prematurely with your bypasses.

exactly this. Use any kit and just mount the shock tabs wherever you need them

Thanks for the pictures. I was just looking for this. Im not doing LT, but dual shock MT - eventually. Just did the double shear UCA gussets.

Was planning on the TC because everything is measured for their stuff already. Ill be putting these on today hopefully. (Whats good about mid travel, is I can do it in stages )

The tc shock tabs only come tacked in place so you can cycle the suspension and check their placement. Make sure do check things before you just weld the tabs where they come and it’s not guaranteed to be in the right spot

Ah thanks for that. I wasnt sure if it was set from their pictures online. I still have some time before those are bought and installed.

I sent them an email, but any idea if 16x8 3.5bs wheels and 35s will rub the lcas or bypasses?

Gonna be close. I think it might rub the bypass full lock. I’m hoping to do the same as you now that I have the ext King’s and tc uppers. I’m in 35x12.5 and 4.75bs wheels LOL

im leaning towards fabricating my own hoop. I have the skills to do it, but not the tools anymore

With the 3.5 bs I wouldn’t worry about rubbing the lca or bypass. Then again, I haven’t messed around with stock length stuff and big tires in a while

I have some ICON secondary shock hoops for sale. Could just cut off the current tabs and weld on some other ones for better placement.

Nice. If anything that's the best photo I've seen showing wtf this is.

Looks easy enough to make yourself though honestly.

True - probably asking around will lead to finding the little things like what bushing to use etc. This guy said he built one himself (not that his truck couldn’t be improved upon with his front bumps basically touching his arms at ride height...). He said he used a brass bushing which I’d be interested to see how to attach it to the outer tube. But couldn’t see his mount for it well at unfortunately. I’d assume it just needs mounts to the frame on the outer tube unless I’m missing something. :notsure:
