I know, right? Even if we had a tall enough garage gate & space at the apartment building to fit a Tacoma with a camper shell, I would have still gone with a tonneau cover because of the Diamondback cover. It’s keeping stuff secure, lower center of gravity for the bumpy trails/cornering on streets with speed, and fairly easy to modify/remove for whatever you need the truck for. I didn’t mod the truck as quickly as you did with an order to Diamondback Covers from the dealership showroom floor, but it was the first mod I did for the Taco. Actually, I think you could say the first mod you did to the DB cover was to attach a Toyota Tacoma to it! :rofl:I went HD for that same “buy once, cry once” reasoning because I wanted to make darn sure that I could put some stuff on there and not worry about it. Heck, I think the cover even acts as a whole bed stiffener to some degree.

Looks great. Superb job. How did the install go?

Thinking of going this route for a RTT, not sure hard or soft yet. Any idea on how much weight it can support?

thanks. uni strut is game changer, economical, tough and doesn't add much weight either.

5C847B7F-3613-4370-84E8-F0CADE8608FE.jpg For anyone who is curious, I ended up cutting a leftover piece of foam weather striping from the kit. After doubling it over, I stuffed it into the gap and applied marine sealant around the edges.

Do any of y’all have a gap (can see light) through the areas in the pics? It’s where the weather stripping on the back panel stops at the hinge and the center piece begins. Shined a light through all of it and these are the only spots I can see light.

If so, what was your fix for it? Adding more weather stripping?

Just having fun with the inside of the Diamonback. Added stickers, and velcro for accessories.

I figure if it's not too heavy the velcro will do the job. Maybe a small hatchet, first aid kit etc.
    Good luck

I can see light through that gap, which I would assume water would get through.

Maybe you need to tighten the cover so it can close better(?)

Has anyone had issues with their bed caps deforming?

Mine are newly OEM replaced but I’m barely applying any torque on the cap clamps and it still is causing an indentation.

I’ve also tried using locktite and the cap clamps are still coming lose. The bolt threads shouldn’t be worn already as this is a newly replaced cover.

I have KB Voodoo rail and tailgate caps but couldn’t get the Diamondback to fit correctly with them in the past.

The cover is tight (center and panels). It’s “tightness” or compression to the bed rail wouldn’t explain the gap I’m seeing. It’s between the center piece and the rear panel.

I’ve never thought of adding those since they don’t come with it. DB just recommends Locktite I thought.
