Any black wheels similar to SCS F5s?

Just got a new 2020 4Runner (Off Road Premium) and looking to put black wheels on it. Only wheels I'm loving are the SCS F5s (photo below), but SCS won't get back to me and it also doesn't seem like they're in stock for 17s, which I need.

Anyone know of any similar wheels? I love the Japanese-style 5-spoke and aiming for a simple and clean style with no added bulkiness/bolts/knobs/text/etc.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Hmm, well I’m actually thinking of getting those myself lol. I’m in so cal and might be able to get a deal.

They are a bit pricey. I was looking at the F5s too but like you said they’re never in stock.

 

VTX rips off just about every SCS wheel, wouldnt be surprised if they had something like it.

 

FN Wheels five star is similar.... They come in 17" as well but the website only shows the 16" since it hasn't been updated in years....

Lol, because SCS was the first to pioneer the 5 spoke wheel.

There all copies of a copy. But you're right, VTX has a couple models that look like copies of the F5. Just like the F5 looks like a copy of the Regamaster Evo or Work Meister, and the SR8s are just TE37s with 2 extra spokes, and the Ray10s are just copies of the old bullet hole style wheels from the 70s and 80s.


@shaynekyb Try FN wheels, the 5 star looks great on the 4runners. You'll have to call Dustin and leave him a message though (951)735-1100. Theyre actually a little lighter than the F5s, at about 20lbs.

I'm not crazy about the FN 5 stars, but may end up trying to wait til the F5s are in stock or ship from one of their vendors once they're in stock lol

 

Contact SCS and ask them what local dealers they sell to. One of my main complaints with SCS was that they would sell stock to dealers and then run out of stock to sell to people like us in seconds. I have a few near me that were getting quarterly shipments from SCS and they usually had them in stock. It was easier to purchase them locally than try on the SCS website. Depending on where you live, theyre might be some sitting around locally.

 

Yep, I've call SCS multiple times and emailed, they haven't gotten back to me for over a week.
Also called every vendor of theirs and they're all out of the F5s in 17s that I need except one in Hawaii that may be getting a shipment in.
Gonna keep callin, but losing patience with them a lil.

 

Fuck scs. they artificially drive up demand by limiting supply, and it's 100% unnecessary. What if you biff a wheel and need a replacement? "sorry we are out of stock for 4 months.." shit's bananas

 

Just get Bradleys and be done..
