Well, I was reading about a guy having to pay 165$ fee etc out of warranty. Looked up my vin and it says
    • Date of First UseJuly 21, 2017

    • so I’m assuming it’s still in full warranty? I bought it used from a private party, has 31k miles on her. 2017. Can anyone chime in on this? I should be good right?

I'm pretty sure factory warranty is transferable. Google toyota warranty specifics

Ok yes. My bad, my brains just racked from this. Ok good I’m still under warranty for a little, thank Jesus. Anything else I should have them look at while I’ve got about 2 months of warranty left? Lol

None that we could ever see. It didn't do it at idle, or around town. Trips at speed over about 30 minutes it would show low coolant after. 5 min run to the store, no change.

I'm assuming you're a shared driver with @Rawdoggy ? Sounds like you're under warranty, let the dealer sort it out. Take a 50mpg rental and enjoy life for a bit.

No, I was a service advisor. Not a dipshit service advisor, I actually cared, and wanted the best for my customers, and the mechanics.
I just got to see alot of problems, with alot of different cars.

An oil sample sent to Blackstone Labs would rule out coolant in the oil, if you wanted to go that route prior to taking it to the dealer. Even if it was in a small enough amount to not see on the dipstick, it should show up there. I used to use them exclusively when I had my STi to keep an eye on all the wear metals, and they'd do coolant / fuel in oil as part of their testing.

    Is this a recent thing?

Wonder what the transmission fluid looks like.

You sure it just wasn't low to begin with? The overflow level will fluctuate as the engine gets hot and cold. But I think getting this documented with Toyota was the right move no matter the outcome.

just pop off the radiator cap when the engine is COLD make sure the radiator is topped off and you can also turn on the truck with the cap off to see if the level goes down due to air pockets then top off radiator till it stops, replace rad. cap top off the resovoir

And not to mention the cost of replacing the timing belt...that's one thing that I hate about our other vehicle...Honda Pilot. Up here in Canuckistan that job is nearly $1000 !
