Thank you brother. We stayed up till sunrise watching over the property and woke up to everyone helping the community pick up the pieces. That really pulled on the heart strings. Last night was a freaking nightmare. The explosions, gun shots, screaming, sounds of looting and people yelling for help, sirens, helicopters, cars peeling out over and over, the fire and smoke all made it seem like we were literally in hell.

Everything is boarded up just in case they do come back tonight. Everyone is on edge about it.

I'm afraid downtown SD might see the same crap tonight.

Normal ADS shiny finish, but I’m having them valve the coilovers to DKs specs. Nice, I can’t wait to see them. From what I heard DK does pretty well when sticking to schedule.

Went to the range with my Brother in Law, a retired LEO Sgt for a little refresh on using my 357 and Remington 12ga Haven't had them out of the say for a number years. With way thing are here in Sacramento and the area felt is time to prepare just in case. Also to the Taco and my Oldest Son's Mustang to the store lot where we have a Storage unit. Wife's Mini is in the Garage, can't get out because new driveway was poured yesterday. Only car left is the 09 Venza the grand kids use. I don't like leaving the Taco on the street and even more so now. We will go them in morning and should be able to park on the Driveway tomorrow. On the street is to easy a target. Shotgun by the front door. 357 near by. Last I heard they have managed to stop traffic North and South bound I5. To bad some idiot didn't get hit by a Semi.

it does feel like that; since I did it all alone basically except for the fabrication of the crossmember (I cut it out and measured it tho)

    he planning on converting?

Spent like eight hours under the truck and got almost nothing done. This is what you call learning the hard way. plus nearly every bolt I went after was siezed and required PB penetrating spray and the breaker bar. God I fucking hate living in this salt infested hell hole.

I am having my coilovers and shocks rebuilt and recharged tomorrow. So today’s plan was to take them out, while I’m at it, replace the rotors and brake pads. Also prep/prime/paint my @glorifiedwelder TC gusseted spindles. And pull mine.

but without impact tools, and relying on leverage, if you pull your coilovers first it’s super hard to remove the spindles. Dumbass. Meaning I put them back in to remove the spindles. Followed immediately by stepping on the brakes while forgetting that one caliper is unattached, which necessitated bleeding the brakes and wrestling with the caliper piston and rubber boot.

but I did get the shocks and coilovers off. Gusset spindles prepped and primed.

I paid a little less than that but I got them for a good deal through a friend , they are $355 on the baja website for the kit I got so that's a good deal.

The minute I move back to NM in September, that’s first thing I’m getting: a nice big compressor and a suite of air tools.

I’ve got some Makita tools, so will likely stick with them. I was contemplating an impact while I was at home depot today, but decided to wait till I could dig through their models and see what’s what. Think I’ll be keeping the impact in the truck once I get it.

Those Milwaukee's can break lugs they're so strong. I've got all Makita and comparatively speaking Makita's are weak.

Keep us posted on how you like this. I’ve been looking at that unit. Did you buy the high end one with the wireless CarPlay?

So here's pictures from the other days rear suspension change. Mind you this is my beater work truck up in alaska that i drive maybe a month a year (also just got it last year for $3000 bucks with 70k miles on it). But i didn't even bother taking most the bolts out i just cut them all out and then the driverside leaf. The driverside shock was just chillin in there with no top bushing or washer and the passenger side leaf was broken into three pieces, also that shock was completely blown. Swapped in some oe leafs with new shackles and then used my old ome nitrochargers that came off my truck from home when i went LT. so for like $600 bucks i took what was a truck that was falling apart and made it pretty decent again! Now i just need to get the front swapped sometime this week!

oh and before anyone says, the blocks where way less sketchy then they look, We put 30k lb boats on them and on this gravel where more stable than any jack stand would be.
