we’re opening up Monday. Had outdoor for the past few weeks so that was nice. Honestly I love eating outside so this is awesome it’s getting restaurants to figure out the outdoor stuff hope it sticks around.


I think if the markets are on the up, a few riots aren’t going to change that.

 

Eating and a few beers outside in good weather is one of the greatest things in the world!

 

it really was like a turning point. I think as everywhere started to reopen a bit and the weather got better, it started to ease some tensions. Not saying it’s over not by a long shot, 4 years from now the graduating class will be small and that’s going to crush entry level positions. Those people leaving school in the next few years are going to be delayed in promotions and career advances because there’s nobody behind them to fill the roles. Used car market is screwed because people aren’t getting licenses. theres a lot of weird little things that nobody is realizing will happen in a year, two years, ten years, etc.

 

There will be repercussions, probably some we can’t even think of yet. It’s a great release of all the tension though to open everything back up. I may just be speaking for myself, but this caused a lot of pent up anger. I didn’t realize how nice it is just to sit at a restaurant.

It kind of reminds me of coming back from a deployment, though not as “awesome” as the feeling was for that.

 

a lot of stuff we took for granted before this I guess. I don’t want to say for granted because food service and being able to buy pants shouldn’t be a luxury.

speaking of which I do need to go to the store for pants....

but yeah it’s the psychological impacts of the simple things coming back or going back to normal that’s sort of relieving some tensions.

the timing was decent on this though. If they tried to lock down the outdoors during crop harvests and the middle of the summer, incoming freshmen etc that would have been a disaster. As weird as it is to say, if we had to go through this shit show, the timing was spot on.

 

My hair is in my eyes, probably time to do something about that. I’ll wear a mask for that if I have to. It’s the simple things we like in America!

 

Walked downtown today. A few shops are having 50% off going out of business sales. I saw one restaurant went out of business. Another spot opening soon. Places that opened for in-house seating look busy

 

I’m easy I buzz my own hair.

 

The biggest impact is going to be empty storefronts in borderline communities...It probably set back gentrification by 5-10 years...

How could it not be?!

 

Last week, we were arresting people for opening up their businesses to have a livelihood or breaking quarantine rules. This week we’re allowing people to burn down businesses and set police cars on fire. You can’t make this stuff up!

 

I’ll never understand the correlation, and I’ve tried. Sucks for plenty of retailers trying to recover from lockdown

 

Idk I think it’ll continue going up. These riots are the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen. They’re starting in the UK and Belgium now! It’s senseless

 

I won’t touch that topic. But futures are way down. After last week and the end of the day Friday I’m not surprised it’s a down day to be fair.

 

Im just trying to get some SPHD so I can let that ride.

If this goes on much longer, the precious metals of brass and lead might be a good investment.
