    A zoom meeting would be great. A lot of the meetings out here are doing them. I was in one with @Dex__43 the other day. I know that a majority of AA groups are doing them along as they have a tech-oriented person in their group to set ot up.

    I know a few people that have set up zoom meetings so I will talk to them and see what's up. I'll let y'all know what I find out. If it's free to set one up and not too difficult then we can decide from there. I dont think we are all in the same time zones in this thread though.
    Right on! :thumbsup::hattip:

    Hey patch brother. I remember your original post and do think about you regarding this subject here and there.

    You can do it, for some it can take numerous attempts before you get it. I knew it took me countless attempts until I finally got it. Just keep trying. For me, I needed some help from and comradery with others who had already got sober.

    4 years in November.
    I started drinking in high school as a way to deal with depression. After quitting, I realized that at some point along the way, alcohol had stopped being a treatment for depression and had become the cause of it. I actually was happy.

    I am so proud of everyone in this thread right now. During this state of crisis, liquor stores are thriving due to "cabin fever" and there is a huge increase in the amount of drinking per capita since prohibition. Once again, if anyone is struggling, please do not hesitate to reach out. A support network is necessary in a time of need and Family isn't just blood. I am hear to lend an ear to anyone that needs it.

    It is from the show "Elementary." A remake of Sherlock Holmes. Johnny Lee Miller plays the lead role. It is very fitting with my job. Especially in these crazy times.

    Just a really good song about addiction and how hard it is to stay away. Great song and the way he delivers it, you can hear the emotion and pain in his voice.

    Great West Virginia sound

    The common denominator here & it don’t much matter if you got four or forty years. The most important day for everyone is Today. It’s all anyone really has.

    Okay... so since I started this thread with full disclosure I felt it only right to pass on this information. It would be hypocritical of me to not be completely honest with everyone that has responded to this thread for me not to be completely honest.

    I have cracked a tooth all the way down to the root and will have to have an extraction. It is set to be removed on the 24th. The Dentist has given me antibiotics and pain pills. I will not lie and tell you that my tooth hurts like a motherfucker right now and I am going to take the pain pills. But I would also be lying if I said that I am not going to enjoy the feeling that the pain pills give me. I wish it wasn't that way and I wish I had the self control to not take them. But I am going to take them and in complete transparency, I am going to enjoy the way that they make me feel. I just wanted everyone in here to know that I am not hiding anything from anyone and the thought of taking pain pills (even for the tremendous pain) has an ulterior motive of the feeling that I get when I take them. I wish it wasn't that way. But anyone that has dealt with addiction knows this feeling all too well.

    So I wanted to be completely honest with everyone of you and not hide anything about this. It would ruin any credibility that I have to everyone that has responded to this thread. After this surgery, I will most likely be given more. And I will take them. But once I no longer have access to them anymore I will be back to where I was. I'm very disappointed in myself because of this but I needed everyone of you to know why I am taking them in the first place. And more importantly, I wish I had the willpower to not want them.

    First of all......thank you for being honest when you didn't have to. I always tell my patients that 10% of sobriety is not taking the drug or the drink that they were addicted to, the other 90% is fighting addictive behaviors. You still continue to fight so please do not feel bad in this decision. If I could, I would like to give you a couple of options to think about. I am going to PM you my number. If you would like some perspective and support, please feel free to call me. I completely understand your situation but please do not be so hard on yourself. I hope you call.
