Question on avid sliders

Was looking into getting these but couldn't tell by the picture If they are also good step rails ontop of being good sliders, (girl has problems getting in truck haha).

I measured mine (bolt on Avid) they're about 3 1/2" below the door sill, and stick out about 3 1/2" from the sill. Not a lot of step surface, but if she has small feet?

I've got Avid sliders and they stick out far enough to work well as steps. Here are some pics:

 

put some grip tape on there so she doesnt slip when they're wet

Also have this situation. Might go with Avid and powdercoat/line-x them

 

i've heard to many different opinions on which way to paint them to have any clue what im going to do haha
