Any reputable shops that do 5.29 Regear on Tacoma

Anyone done regear their 3rd gen tacoma in CO and what you paid and who you used, i am looking for reputable place that knows what they doing.

any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

^^did my 4.88's. If he has time to get them done you will be one happy camper. Top notch no BS and no funny numbers like two other shops that will be more than happy to TAKE YOUR MONEY. FYI = if you buy parts the "two other shops" will not touch it - they make bank padding parts.

 

Depending on where you are, it might be worth a call to Flyin Miata and ask about a referral to a shop.

If there's a drag strip close by, go out, enjoy the races, ask locals questions

Never hurts to ask.

 

who were the shops? i got refered to rsg and slee, and both came 3000+ price range, i am bit confused as doesnt seem like super complicated replacement if you have tools etc. might gona try look outside CO.

Well you found the shops! Not something you would do unless you have experience and tools. Hopefully Brian will respond. Otherwise yes look out of state and plan a vacation around it.

I've been in touch with him and I don't think he'll be taking any new jobs till fall.

 

Have you checked with Addicted Off-road? Hillside 4x4? High Country 4wd? I've heard great things about all of them

 

Slee did a solid job for me. It seems their diff guy has been doing them for years and years. My 4.88 are nice and quiet.

 

ECGS only recommends Slee for install in the Denver/Metro Area. So if you can't get the local TW gear master to do them and you want them done local Slee would be the vote.

 

yeap talked to them and got quote and everything, and nitro suggested them as well. so gona go with them, sounds like they are packed though so will try to find window that works for both of us.

The labor is nasty. And requires doing both front and rear third member.
$3000 was about my total bill for my 5.29s. $1500 was the gear kit itself.
