Same boat...
I added more HTZ at a limit of $0.89 today to dollar cost my $3 shares...
I added some ADAP mostly to mock my friend @$11.65 and put in a sell for $14 hoping to flip it fast on it's next ramp up...
I have open orders waiting to fill for a lot of other things...but I think everyone is playing it close to the vest...
and I'd like to see some volatility please!

I actually wouldn't buy today...it was $115 just a few days ago..it would take further pullback for me to buy some calls because @100+ a share that's kind of steep...a 10 movement makes you $20 on $200...but makes you $$$ on options...

Being a partial owner of a company like Walmart, that makes a profit and is growing, and also pays a portion of its profit in cash to its owners (shareholders) in the form of dividends on a quarterly basis...

It's an honest question, not trying to start anything here. I just think Tulip Bulbs whenever I hear Bitcoin, and I'd rather ask questions and become educated on it than be ignorant.

But the post I responded to seemed to imply that owning stock isn’t investing. I am just trying to understand that part.

Owning a company that profits isn’t investing, but buying something imaginary is?

My take on Bitcoin is it's like owning gold if there were a finite amount of gold and you had no fear of the demand for gold ever running out nor did you fear storing all the gold in a giant, uncrackable vault...
But there's a lot of intangibles with cryptos...which still includes mainstream acceptance. The harder you have to work to liquidate the asset the less appealing it is. This is also why there is not Bitcoin/Crypto ETF...can't get approved by the SEC...
I could see buying A bitcoin as way of diversifying...but I think 90% of bitcoin transactions are day traders buying and selling.

I would say that if you were looking to invest in Bitcoin...choose an Entry under $6,000 and get out anytime it breaks $10K

 

Oh, well I don’t see how that can be argued. Owning shares of a company is investing, almost by definition. I’ll wait for someone to argue against that.

I was more speaking to the idea of bitcoin as currency. It’s a very utopian idea of how currency should work. I don’t know that it will work, but I appreciate the idea.

Was going to pull the trigger and never did. Impressive idea and some heavy hitters are involved.

 

This is of course why the rich get richer....If you had $1M to throw around and threw $100K into any of these dips and rises you would probably be at $5M right now in the last month...Instead I throw $200 and make $50...

side note, I hate historical societies. The local one prevented a property owner from tearing down a dilapidated, dangerous barn. Somehow it magically collapsed one night at 3am. Fire department used the rest for training and it’s gone now.

the head of the society didn’t see the irony when I asked about his restored mustang with a newer engine because the original wasn’t as good as he wanted.



ANYWAY if htz is still selling I might take a 25 or 30 dollar gamble. Heck I pay that for lunch sometimes (generous tipping recently), skip lunch bet on htz.
