    Nice work.

Looks amazing. More importantly the functionality.

What was the point of drilling the second hole and sticking the Allen key in it? To stop the ball from moving when screwing in the mount?

Thanks! It’s made such a difference in handling already. Really looking forward to having the rear done too.

Drivers side is off, took almost exactly an hour, 20min dedicated to getting the hub cover off without jacking it up. Dropping them off at Tucson Driveline tomorrow to get some 555 ball joints pressed in.

Pretty sure the ubj’s were original, even with my 2ft breaker bar on the c press I was really having to work it to crack them loose of the spindle. Was pretty loose and gritty in terms of play. Not to mention the GROSS grease that was still in there.

In the middle of the same minus the uca bushings. Tough finding motivation in this 100 degree heat haha

Oem uppers are so cheap though. Even cheaper though is rented a ball joint press for free to do it yourself.

Oh I got one, just weird about using it on presses. It zipped my axle nuts off like it was nothing though, which was very welcomed

Made a little more progress on my rear frame rehab.

I am going to make a joint stiffener for the circled location. I ended up cutting out more than I thought was going to be needed, so I don't like all that rear section hanging without some additional connective support. You can see on the other side, I am only completely removing the last 22". RH top and side plates were still fairly solid except that last 22". Bottom is bad in some areas.

If all my parts come by end of day Thursday as promised, I hope I can wrap it up this weekend.

Yeah I’m not too sure. I didn’t do that step and the screw didn’t fasten as tightly as I would have hoped and there was some play in the mount. So I used some loctite and now the mount is super solid and gives the dash a really clean look

As a matter of fact, I do!

the location of the compressor is permanent, but the install is definitely not completed. That orange hose is cheap harbor freight hose I bought to hack up while I figure out how to run it/where I want it ran.CFF5861D-173C-4B59-B8C8-FAFFDB11A766.jpg
I ran the airline all the way to the front bumper and used a bulkhead fitting to go through the bumper. 5DC20DBF-A9F9-455A-90B6-3005CC1F0DE2.jpg 1882ABE8-4DFD-4A95-9047-BA7456F19AB6.jpg The location of the hole was purely based on how recessed I could get it while having room for my dewalt cordless drill to get in there from the bottom of the bumper. I wanted it closer to the supports, but I don’t have a right angle drill, so I am going to have to live with it. That black piece I used to cover the air fitting is a chair leg cover or foot to fit over a 7/8”’s Chair leg. Ace hardware brand. Fits nice and snug.

I worked on building my bussman box today and got most of it finished. I had to order some ring terminals that I couldn’t find in town, so it won’t be operational until next week, probably. But here it is as it sits now installed in the pickup!9CD92232-0500-4CE9-AE4B-E8F48D62401C.jpg

For anyone who isn’t familiar with this mod, there is a page here about how to build these relay/fuse boxes. I’m pretty excited about it!

How many quarts should a E-locker take? I believe the manual says 2.7, but I was only able to get about 2-2.25 in it. I do have shims installed, but I wouldn't think it would keep it half a quart too low.

That's close enough, you only have to fill it until it starts to run out of the fill port.

Keep in mind when you drain it, not everything comes out. There's still a small amount left behind clinging to the gears and inside of the diff

Ok, good. Since I just did a regear, I made sure to clean most all the old fluid out. I was concerned I didn't put enough in and would damage the new gears.
