    1) 2007
    2) V-6, AT
    3) 4WD, Locking Diff.
    4) Double Cab, Short Bed
    5) TRD with RevTek 3" (installed by dealer)
    6) The god-awful engine tick (gets worse heading to 4K ODO miles), vibration on acceleration/deceleration/cruising around 25 mph, OD shifting lags after hard acceleration, two instances of hard/long starts (vehicle had been sitting >6 hours), rubbing noise on acceleration after releasing e-brake, panels are starting to rattle.

I imagine after a year my Taco will sound (inside and out) like my '91 Landcruiser with 200K miles on the ODO.

Dealer has duplicated the vibration and rubbing noise, and knows of no way to fix it (unless they are lazy). They also know of the engine tick. I have not been back to the dealership in three months. Especially since the service issues remind me of my old '99 Pontiac Firebird WS-6. Quality of new vehicles sucks, IMHO.

    6) I have several:
6a) lunging (when I first bought it) -- doesn't happen much anymore
6b) didn't start on first try (happened about 5 times in 2 years)
6c) rattle in cab/bed -- dealership said they fixed this and it appears to be gone
6d) windshield high pitch hum at high speed/crosswind
    6e) brakes are mushy
6f) ABS is loud when it actuates
6g) rails are a bit fragile -- bend very easily
6h) engine ticking -- has mostly gone away or I just don't notice anymore

But overall, I love my truck!

I would have to agree with Jhodge, the interior scratches way too easy.
But other than that I have no complaints, nor have I noticed any of the common issue's I read about.

Things I 'mentioned' to toyota on their survey:
    1) No defrosters on side mirrors..even my 10 year old Dodge trash hauler has them.
    2) Drum brakes on the rear?
    3) Second hand Goodyears on a loaded model?
    4) Why did you bury the cruise control under the steering wheel and leave the right side of the horn ring (opposite the radio controls) empty?
    5) Who was the rocker scientist that put the latch for the rear slider BEHIND the driver?
Since then I've been happy. My wife sez there's a lot of wind noise from the side window behind the driver but being DND (damn near deft) I don't hear much. But here's the one thing that did get my attention....Last weekend I changed my own oil for the first time. So I'm laying under there looking about and noticing things you only see when you're waiting for the oil to drain. I notice a cross member is the lowest point of the under carriage. Only it isn't a cross member it's the FREAKING EXHAUST CROSS OVER PIPE!!!! My Toyota Racing Developed/off road wondertruck/race tested/loved by all four wheel drive pick up truck has a a exhaust pipe for a low point. It's even been 'factory-flattened' to make less noticeable. Groooan...how General Motors is that? If I was going to do some serious off roading, which I'm not, that 'defect' would require some attention. But it's a good truck and a keeper.

Ive been told by Toyota Rep that Toyota is working on a fix(they need to work quicker) Send your complaints to Toyota Torrance CA.

    none yet, looking to upgrade.
I have an 07 prerunner sr5. There is a noise when I accelerate from 0 to about 40 mph. Kind of like a thin hinged metal lid clicking up and down very fast. Think of a tea kettle top making that jumpy metal sound when the water is boiling. It's consistent along with the force I apply to the gas pedal. It's a slight noise but it's definitely noticeable. Does anybody have any idea what this is? I would rather hear my engine rev when I accelerate instead of this annoying clicking noise.

I have a similar noise, but it isn't a clicking. When I press the engine very hard (like going uphill under a heavy load), I get a noise like a heat shield or something oscilating to the vibration of the engine. I hear it very rarely, but it does have me concerned. When I am done testing the ECO-1, I will take it in to the dealership to be looked at.

Back for a few minutes from my sabbatical. Came across this fix for a wind noise or whistling noise which gets louder with speed. The noise will seem to come from everywhere and hard to pinpoint but this is the solution.
Noise originates from the rubber around the windshield vibrating due to flow of air around it. Tape off sides of windshield rubber molding and see if it disappears. If it does, have dealer seal with silicone sealers. Also try taping off top of windshield molding and see what happens.
    Usually occurs around 20/50 mph.

I have a minor electrical issue where the front passenger door doesn't register as open (the dash light doesn't come on, the idiot light doesn't come on, and the car locks after 30 seconds when no other doors are opened).

It's a minor issue to me since I rarely carry passengers but if I had a passenger, it would be important to know that they effectively closed the door.

I would take that to the dealership. The switch is either faulty or not hooked up correctly. In either case that would be covered under your warranty.

    Let us know what happens.

    6) I too have this low speed driveline vibration. It is most noticeable when accelerating or decelerating slowly between about 17-24 mph. I had two service people drive it, one being the service manager. He tried putting it in 4x4, 2x4, 1st gear, 2nd, all the way through D and it did it every time in every gear. I have yet to hear back from him on the issue. I was thinking it was either driveshaft, u joint or rear end related (locking rear diff?). It doesn't make sense to me. I will keep on trucking till the wheels fall off...

I'm not overly concerned, but if Toyota does come up with a fix, I would sure hope someone here on the forums will let everyone who has this issue know so we can all get it fixed.

    6) I have 1100 miles on my truck and I am getting used to the 6 speed shift that was a bit of a learning curve for seamless smooth shifting. The only other rather annoying thing is the infamous engine tick comming from most noticeably the driver side of engine. Seems to get louder after warmed up. I don't notice the ticking at all while driving though, unless next to a wall or sound reflecting surface. Then I hear it a bit. Mostly at idle and from the outside of the truck. I have not taken it back to dealer yet or tried isolating an emmision valve on the head and near the oil filter? I hope this ticking can be quieted. I love my truck!

I had an engine oil leak from the timing cover, and a power steering leak from the rack. The dealer took care of it right away. I still love the hell out of my truck but that sucked.:(

I remember you talking about that in one of the other threads. I am glad they took care of it for you. Any more issues?

I have the exact same problems...I have received an answer from one of the two dealers I have taken it to. He said it is an issue with the drive line being misaligned. He said it could be easily fixed with a couple of shims but Toyota won't let him do it. I am currently working with someone from Toyota customer service trying to fix the issue.
