Hey Tacos, what are your favorite Topper brands/models - and why?? I'm shopping!

(Really looking for a smooth seamless look, i.e. not like super intricate sleepers or drawered out tool organizers, etc.....)

    Thanks!!

I own an ARE, but I personally just don't think there is really that much difference in the top of the line brands. I bought what I did because the place local to me sold ARE. Most are probably good with the occasional bad one.
I'd just get whatever you can get the best deal on myself.

This soft top looks siiiiiick. I have a quicksand tacoma myself. Unfortunately I think the sap in my area would ruin this soft top, as it did my tonneau cover. Thankfully sap seems to come off regular clear coat finish pretty easily and permanently, if you get to it fast. This is the main reason I'm going for the topper next.

PS - is you Taco lifted?

Any idea of the brand and "model" - (do they even go by "model"?)

Cant go wrong with ARE, leer, or snugtop

    I got ARE
Just dont be stupid like me, buy a reinforced model so u can mount heavy stuff on top if u decide you want too, like a roof top tent or fuel

This is the Leer 100XQ. I like how the side window coordinates with the passenger window.IMG_0402.jpg

GasPowered, can you post more pics of the topper? I have a cement tacoma as well and am really considering the soft topper. Also, is it easy to fold down and put back up again?

I put mine down in under 5 minutes, loaded my motorcycle in the bed, unloaded it halfway across the country and put the topper back up in under 5. Very easy.imagejpeg_0.jpg

It's actually a dirty Silver Sky Metallic...

The top is extremely easy to fold down and put back up... Less than 5 minutes.
After you do it once, to take it ALL the way off takes about 5 minutes and to put it on takes about 10.

Here's another pic in the sun.

    Cheers

Also wondering, how long do these soft toppers last under "typical" conditions? Is this something that will last as long as the truck, or will it need to be replaced every 5 years?

I've had mine for about 2 years now.
I treat it a couple times a year with 303 just to protect it a bit from UV exposure. I'd say it'll last an easy 7+ years if you do some basic preventative maintenance.

    Cheers
