    Hello,

So I am going to be making my first mod soon. I am going to be leveling the truck out. I have a stock 06 TRD Sport 4x4 Access cab.

I plan on keeping the springs all the same. The original plan was to put Billy 5100's all around, and level the front out. But, a few shops when calling around for prices have said, you should go for 5125 on the rear, it's a better combo than 5100's in the back.

So 5100 for front and back?

    or

5100's front, and 5125 for rear?

Any information would be great. The pro/cons?

    thanks,

i would go 5125s for the rear...

5100s are only good for up to 1" of lift

5125s can be had in a variety of shock length travel so depending on your rear spring setup, you can potentially gain a bit more articulation from your suspension...

I am going to be stock everything but whatever new shocks I put on. I want to level the truck out and just improve overall ride quality. 98% street driving, the roads I drive are up and down and lots of hard turns, want a better quality ride.

So, 5100s in front set to whatever level is needed to level and 5125's in the back?

    thanks,

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
If your just leveling the truck just get 5100's there is no need for the 5125's if your not going to lift the truck in the back.

    x2

but rear shocks alone wont improve handling that much... new leaf packs would help...

According to what I was told when I bought mine, the 5125's are for stock height in the rear. if you get the 5100's they will be longer and bottom out over larger bumps possibly bending the shock. This was from DownSouth Motorsports.

I think you got that backwards.

5100s and 5125s are basically the same shocks. 5100s are made in specific lengths for specific vehicles. They are usually designed to work with lifted applications, as well as stock height vehicles.
5125s are available in generic lengths. 6", 8" 10", etc. They are for use in any kind suspension application, custom or stock. But for vehicles that use an upper mount that requires a stem, then an adapter will need to be used.

Keep it simple and just get the 5100s that are for your vehicle.
