In Thailand, Entune 3.0 is branded as T-Connect, to enable Hilux owners to more easily connect with T-girls:

Do wish Toyota would merge the Hilux and Tacoma lines to produce just one "midsize" truck. Currently they seem to want want to go "larger" for the NA market, and "smaller" for the rest of the world.

The Tacoma is 2.7" longer and 2.1" wider, not that much of a difference. The Hilux is considered too large for Japan and hasn't been sold there for over 15 years. I'm not interested unless it's easier to fit 35" tires on the Hilux. Based on the photos I've seen that's isn't the case. Even the fully-built Hilux race trucks still run tiny tires, though that may be a rules limitation.

Then Toyota needs to sell a Kai truck for their domestic market.

Toyota does, through their subsidiary Daihatsu. It's irrelevant to us here though. The Japanese market is a weird AF. One look in Toyota JP's Youtube channel should make that very clear.

Toyota wants All their body-on frame vehicles to share the same TNG-F platform not just the Hilux and Tacoma
