No. I didn't extend my mic cable. My base is under the seat and the mic cord comes up beside the seat. The mic holder is to the right of my knee right next to the wireless charger I never use. The cable is under very light strain while talking and no strain while in the clip.

I extended my head unit cable but that isn't a special cable like the mic. I purchased a 6-pin phone cable, cut an end off, crimped an RJ-45 to the other end, then sanded off the two empty pin holes on the phone side. If you buy a 4-pin phone cable, it only has two wires. The 6-pin has four wires but is too wide.

after being home 5 months, I finally have my HF wire in the trees. Now to clean off the desk for Radio Equipment. Time to look for all those power cords.

2nd gen owners who placed a remote mic RJ45 mount in the below ac controls what did you use for pass through? Does someone make a premade switch blank replacement pass through or did you cut open a blank and epoxy a pass through in place?

I checked the price of a blank with the RJ45 hole.
Took a dremel and cut a blank that I would thrown away.
    Works good.

Like this one, mostly I have a problem with the explanation.. and maybe a little bit of :duel:"They come off as such a prestigious group of Operators but this is the best they can explain something":duh: A better explanation might be that "while Model vehicles are Remotely controlled their use is not defined in PART 97" or more simply just post the definition declared by part97 which clearly explains the question. :hattip:
