Yeah, I struggled a lot with which clip to choose cause once it’s on, it’s on lol...adjustable coilovers are too fancy ($$$) for my blood.

Put 1/2” spacer on the top hat and reinstall I got 1” lift out of it without having to compress the spring and go to the second clip ride is exactly the same.

Thank you. I added the add a leafs and it got only more expensive on top of the extra cost that it already had compared to the cheaper set.

Just want the best deal :spending:

I know what you mean. I got my Eibach kit from @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc on sale and saved an extra 15% on that and saved another 20% on the 3 leaf aal from anythingautomotive. Saved over $120 from the best advertised price anywhere else. Just got to shop around. Good luck.

I too have been wanting to make this change. I have a steel skidplate on my truck. I am 1.5-2'' higher in rear currently and on first clip now.I have only had the lift on for a week. Next week I have an appointment scheduled to change them to 2nd clip.

im guessing a few hours of labor and then another realignment. @Rawdoggy

Sorry to hear that. I would just fix the rear, 300 bucks for 1/2” you may be better off doing too spacers?

Installed my Eibach kit today and am very impressed with the quality of the assembled kit that I requested on the first notch for a 2" lift. I ordered from Wheelers Off Road and as I previously posted received my kit yesterday after a couple weeks wait. A few caveats though, my primary gripe is one of the top hat mount screws was very tight on installation and seemed to round out the threads on the top hat studs. Not the fault of the seller but check it out if you get an assembled kit, there was a KYB box also in the box. I had no problem with the rest of the kit and used Torch Off Road add a leafs stated to be a 1.5 to 2" for the rear from eBay. Truck has maybe a smidge of rear rake but I kind of wanted that.

Went ahead and installed the Wheelers Off Road pinion 3 degree shim and leaf bolts and WOF 1/4 spacer for the Tacoma lean on the drivers side. Glad I installed the shim as the truck seemed to ride smoother after the lift and the rear diff looked like it was the perfect angle for the drive shaft. Took me, my longtime buddy, and my stepson pretty much the whole day but I have to say I love the mild lift. My buddy and I took it for a stroll and the ride is firmer but not more than stock on the OEM Hitachis. Dips and bumps were very mild and ride felt very similar to stock. I intentionally drove over the lane markers to simulate a weak washboard effect and the steering never went off course. The sway bar kit seems to be closer to the skid mount area but I will drive it and see if I notice any impacts or metal contact, heard a little clunking up front so up in the air for the sway bar relocation to see if it still does it.

I hope to get an alignment tomorrow and post some pics, close to 10:35 PM here so pics wouldn't be very helpful. All in all for the cost, especially where I live, I have no regrets and would recommend this kit. I think I'll go look for some step bars or sliders since the lady will obviously complain that she has a hard time getting in. I guess 2" does make a difference.

How many folks are ending up having to get shims for the rear due to vibrations? My lift is going to be installed this weekend (1.5" 3 leaf AAL for rear), so just curious if I should expect vibrations possibly.

Every truck seems to be a bit different, as well as what AAL brand you choose, what clip the front is on, in relation to angle changes... no OL leaf ~ 1.5-2 deg, OL leaf 2-2.5 deg. In very broad terms an inch of lift (in the back) equals a degree of pinion angle but measure your angles and go down the rabbit hole that is drive-line vibrations (aka get to know how to use the search function).
Don't forget the needle bearing sucks and may make noise too, or a bad carrier bearing, or tires, or.... as I said, rabbit hole.

I want to get the Eibach kit, but I’m afraid that a spacer lift might perform better on my truck. Hear me out.

I have read all 145 pages of this thread and learned a lot. However, I’m interested in hearing from current users of this system on one aspect of the performance.

It has been said the Eibach is less bouncy, more firmly planted, etc. I get that, and that sounds good. Here’s the problem. I drive 99.9% on the highway. I’m hearing numerous comments that the small bumps and ripples are more noticeable and pronounced with this setup due to the higher spring rate.

On the other hand, a spacer lift basically keeps the same performance of the stock suspension “feel.” I don’t want to spend the extra time and $ only to find out the ride is worse for in my application. Am I right? Am I making too much of this?

I would greatly value some objective comments from current owners of this product.

Completely understandable, thanks for the response mate. Yeah, TW itself is a huge rabbit hole but I'm not complaining...yet. I'll try to take some measurements and prepare, then see what happens post lift. Fingers crossed, but at least adding shims isn't a big deal so it's not like it's something to worry about.

    wanna be mods
Do you have the range for stock pinion angle by chance. I replaced my stock leaf and inch block setup with some heavy leaf springs and netted 2.5inches of lift based on the rear hitch measurements.

I know have this fun sound which based on speed and people's reaction becomes noticable/starts at less than 15-20mph. I have done the ecgs clamshell mod, front is still stock plus 3in spacer (3n1 lift is how it came from dealer)

It appears to be only on driver side, or most prominent on driver side.
    https://youtu.be/l68XpaIRBY8

Checked wheel/tire/brake clearance by jacking rear up. Neighbor (mechanic) put his hand on leaf while in D/S1 and R. he said it's the harmonics and it's "not sliding they are jumping"
"Like the springs are still tight"

I figured I'd snap a work parking lot picture of the pinion (don't think I have a pre leaf upgrade).20200602_124433.jpg 20200602_124425.jpg

Just curious if anybody has a link to where one could order the stage 2 coilovers? I searched the part number that was posted and came up empty, also searched Eibach's site unsuccessfully.

I think @Ryan at Eibach was mentioning that technically they haven't gotten a proper release yet due to all the virus and stay at home delays. A few folks have gotten a hold of them by calling Eibach, part numbers can be found a few pages back I believe and are for the fronts only.
