I failed to recognize this as well, oops! The XL80s are about 2.5 lbs each. I know some guys have experienced vibrations, which is EXTREMELY annoying. That's usually caused by the light being too heavy for the thickness of the bracket or the light is too big and being obstructed by wind. Guys that run a-pillar lights usually use the Squadrons or S2s for spot (pointed straight) or ditch lights (pointed 45 degrees to the side). I'm always an advocate for mounting lights on a front bumper. This way we avoid glare and it's better for the driver.

I was just saying that if you used the LP series of light as "fill" you could devote more effort to power right at the edges.

Here's a quick comparison between spot and wide cornering lenses. LEDs are victims of optics so even with the spot lens there is still some decent dissipation and degredation of pattern at distance. If you went with a spot lens and pointed it at the edges of the road there is a little bit of light bleeding that occurs anyway. If you had the shorter distance foreground covered with an LP light or a light bar for example you could give yourself additional assistance in one of the areas that we generally complain the most about. If you wanted more coverage within like 100ft then you are right, you'd want to go wide cornering.

I like the LP9/LP6 combo the best. Get all pros and that’ll give you more light then you’d ever need

nah it’s really overkill. I’m not desert racing or anything where I need that much light. I’m gonna do the 2x LP9’s on the front spaced out wide and keep my XL80’s and change them to spot lenses. I’ll eventually get a 40” onxy6+ spot bar, just not now. I’ve spent too much money this week on suspension stuff and gears/front locker.

I hear ya. I run spot lenses on my XL80s too and those coupled with the wide corner S1 pointing off the side make a good combination for all area lighting

@Rome604 what’s your setup on the “light bar”....4x XL80’s, 2x lasers, and 2x XL Pros? What else do you have that’s forward facing lights? Total lumen count?

    Asking for a friend :anonymous:

jeebus...ok I thought I had a shot at coming close to you. That is all forward facing driving lights?

I’ll be just shy of 100k loomenz when I add the lightbar. That is just forward facing driving lights though.

Should be 102,170 lumens forward facing if I did the math right.

Badass. I’ll be at 99,060, I think. Damnit. Now I need to find another light to put me into the 100k club.

    Hi All,
I just installed some Squadron pros for ditch lights with the BD wire harness and their switch. I connected the red lead from from the harness to the positive on the battery and the black lead to the negative post on the battery. When I turn the lights on I hear a slight hum/buzz. It's that normal? Did I do something incorrectly?

Connect the ground/black wire to another grounding point on the vehicle and see if that helps. Where is the buzz coming from?

My XL80's buzz. I think it has something to do with the voltage. It was explained a few pages ago IIRC.

The buzz is coming from the lights.
I'll try and put the black lead to the frame ground instead of the battery and see if that helps.
    Thank you.

Grounded black lead to the frame (vs battery) and the buzz is GONE!!

Just started a YouTube too to further help people out where I can... we'll see how that goes since I am not much for being on camera lol.
